Los Vaqueros #4 — Restaurant in Midwest City

First of all there was a 10 minute wait which very slow)y and loudly turned into a 30 minute wait thanks to Bobbie giving up his place in line for us Bobbie and family to sit down and eat a catfish grease| (I hope)overbearing Mexican food dinner. My parents. Of coarse rave on it I've joined them so far 5 times and don't know if I would again during a rave. Over all a 2 atmosphere was very loud and although I appreciate the hell out of good Mexican food and Mexican music , and love birthday traditions wherever the sort. The over|y overly loud banging on the cleverly hung 5 gallon paint or probably grease bucket was overly loud and out of tune and the| other makeshift kitchen utensils for instruments were also as out if tune as the old man with the guitar. If course a little girls birthday is always special or should be so whistles and claps all the way . I was a little overacting taking most everybody's leftovers as if I loved them and would continue eating them all weekend . Could not bear to taste the catfish in the chicken beef ir rice n beans and nobody are out table ordered fish. Sorry guys m* dog doesn't turn his nose up at anything in my fingers except he don't like bananas or fish and he wasn't going to eat them leftovers if I forcefed him Now don't get me wrong this place is always very busy usually we go early before church and there is no time little wait and everybody but me seems to love the atmosphere and food and I am just one opinin. Also I'm sorry to the Pholks in the crew I do not usually give bas reviews and hope I never get into the habit of bad reviews.

Like I said I not see. Or heard of them having a bad rep maybe a bad night. And I wish I wasn't...

We stumbled on this place by accident after a surgery. The Chile rellenos are the best I've ever had. Instead of eggy foam, they have crisp, flavorful crusts which take them over the top. Not to mention the peppers are huge! They fry them up fresh, where most places taste like freezer burn, not here!

I cannot eat them from anywhere else after this.

The tacos are OF THE CHAIN. So much flavor in the bed that I was shocked. They're huge, see the Altoids box in the picture for a reference in the size. You won't leave hungry.

Although the app taquitos look burnt on the ends in my picture, I can assure you the roast inside was juicy, delicious, and I could have eaten just that for lunch.

The seating is diner style, tables only, and casual. The atmosphere is standard, quick bite, family meal. The bathrooms were clean enough to use, changing tables with purse holders were present. The TV had football ⚽️ in Spanish going.

The rice is delicious, I could pass on the beans as they're paler, a bit bland. The cheese is a sauce kind. The salsa is fresh and spicy, love it. The chips are nice and thin so you don't get overly full. The sopapillas are huge and bready.

The appetizer player is a great deal because you get several variations of food for the price of an app and guac. The guacamole is chunky with large cut vegetables.

Service is low key, but all my needs were met. There just wasn't a lot of conversation. Things were refilled quickly. I've only been here a few times and it's always in the off hours of shift change, so I am not sure how peak times work.

I love this place....

For a little no frills restaurant that sits in the rear of a strip mall, it does a booming business. Hers why. The “word of mouth” is great free advertising and Los Vaqueros gets a lot of it. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is friendly and warming. You are greeted with smiles and welcoming waitresses. Even the clientele comment on how good the food is when passing their tables. The staff makes a path between tables without fanfare if using a walker or cane. They seat you and after a short introduction and small talk, they hand out the menu. You really feel comfortable here. The place is full of families enjoying themselves. So it’s a little noisy but tolerable. When dinner is served, your eyes open wide, not expecting the size of the portions. Yes, we took boxes home. The quality and taste of the food would be 10 stars and the service and servers are too notch. No one stands around with nothing to do. The restaurant is clean and kept that way. If a child drops food on the floor, it’s cleaned up immediately. There are no vacant tables with dirty dishes on them. Can’t say enough about this experience and establishment. Who needs fancy frills, mood lighting and expensive seating when the staff and customers are all happy and accommodating. The food and service is well worth the price which is also within reason. We’re both in our 80’s and los Vaqueros will become a date night at least...
