My group and I visited Altitude 1291 Bowling in Oklahoma City, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that customer service was not a priority.
We were met with blank stares from the young lady at the front desk. There was no greeting, no warmth—just silence until we initiated the conversation ourselves. When we politely said thank you after receiving our bowling shoes, we were once again met with a cold stare. It was as if basic manners and hospitality were optional.
Once we made our way to our assigned bowling section, we noticed that the table next to us—previously used by another group—was still dirty. We expected a team member to come over and clean it as part of the standard service, but no one ever did. It sat there the entire time, untouched, while we bowled and tried to enjoy our outing.
Feeling a bit hungry, we decided to order food and asked about using our military discount, which we had been told was available. However, when we brought it up at the time of ordering, the waitress told us that it couldn’t be applied, without offering a clear explanation. We were confused—why advertise a discount if it’s not going to be honored?
We asked to speak with a manager, and that’s when Jennifer arrived. Instead of approaching the situation with understanding or concern, she appeared rushed, anxious, and uninterested in truly listening to our concerns. She ultimately gave us $15 in game cards, claiming it was a gesture to make up for the inconvenience. But considering our military discount should’ve been $10 off the bill, we essentially only received a $5 credit. That felt more like a quick brush-off than any real effort to resolve the issue.
To make matters worse, our food arrived while we were still standing there trying to sort everything out—and yes, that same dirty table was still untouched. When we brought this up, the waitress responded with attitude and sarcastically asked if we’d like her to get the manager. We asked, “What do you need to get a manager for?” and were met with more unprofessional behavior and clear disrespect.
I once again asked to speak with Jennifer because, at that point, we truly felt unwanted. Our group of eight was clearly not receiving the same treatment as others around us—others were given water, napkins, condiments, and general courtesy. We were left to ask for even the most basic items.
It's also worth noting that we were the only African American group in the building, including staff, which made the entire experience feel even more isolating. Whether intentional or not, the lack of service and blatant disregard we experienced sent a clear message: our presence wasn’t valued.
Jennifer's attitude and lack of leadership are not only unacceptable for someone in a managerial role, but they also seem to influence the staff she oversees. The poor service we received felt systemic, not like an isolated incident.
Sadly, I cannot recommend Altitude 1291 to anyone. I truly hope the management reflects on how guests are treated—especially those who already feel underrepresented in these spaces. Until then, I suggest taking your...
Read moreRuth who claimed to be THE manager was very rude and unprofessional. I got there at 11:00 and had questions about bowling because about 12 more people were arriving at 2:00. She would not listen to what I was asking. Ashley ended up having to help me because Ruth was just so rude and disrespectful. There ended up being a group of about 15 of us. Ruth continued to be rude to several people in our group. One of our minors went to the front desk to ask for a refill because there were several signs at the bar saying something about having to be 21 and was told “No, you go over there” as Ruth pointed to the bar. She did not explain that it was ok and the signs were only if you were wanting to sit at the bar. She would not get our group their bowling shoes and continued to ignore that we were standing there waiting even though our hour was already counting down. Some of us had All Access passes. It was hard to get a worker to come over to the rockwall, VR, or bumper cars. There were plenty of workers there but you had to go to the desk and ask them for help anytime you wanted to do anything and then wait for them to actually show up. Holly was decent when we first arrived but then was rude, I believe that Ruth’s bad attitude rubbed off on her. Josh at the bar was professional and had great customer service throughout the entire day. Travis was off but showed up and had great customer service while he was there as well as every time I spoke with him over the phone. There was a blonde girl helping with Laser Tag and she was great. Very sweet. And the girl with long dark hair was running all over helping wherever she could, even jumping in to even up teams in laser tag. But you get a two for the long wait times and the very RUDE, unprofessional, know it all, “well, I’ll talk to Travis about that” “that’s a Travis mistake”(because he helped me finish my All Access transaction over the phone when the online link wouldn’t work) attitude of Ruth. She was awful and nobody in our group wants to come back. That’s 15 people and the 8 families that are attached to those 15....
Read moreMy family decided to go to Altitude 1291 Saturday 08/15/20 in the evening. We had a some what small group the adults wanted to bowl and the children of course wanted the arcade laser tag ect.... We didn't plan on staying more than two hours but that quickly changed once the staff engaged and kept us informed on deals and food .First let me start by saying the bar was excellent great drinks and conversations the pizza is definitely very delicious and above average quality. The young men that worked the arcade gave us the best service and anticipated our needs before we could ask and worked well with our children. One young man even stopped a younger child from standing close to the exit and rerouted him back to safe area and alerted us of what had just happened. He just said he wasn't comfortable with a child so small by the doors of course the older children has temporarily got caught up in the fun but the staff had the safety of the children in mind and told us to continue to bowl but be aware one was wondering away from the older kids. We were very impressed with staff drinks and food bathrooms were very clean and they stayed busy keeping games wiped down after each play. Thank you for a fun engaging night. Kids was sleep before we pulled out the parking lot. Thank you again to the staff...
