Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Midwest City

The manager (the mixed one) here is EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I have been here over 30 times with my boyfriend and they have a point system where you can get a free smoothie after 1200 points. Well, 16 smoothies later, I now had enough points to redeem a free smoothie. I came back to this location to redeem my smoothie and after their scanner wouldn’t work on the free smoothie barcode…. she just re-said the total and expected me to just be like “oh well”. I politely asked for a manger so that we could get the scanner to work and without even trying to scan it the manager said “we don’t have issues with any other barcodes, but we are having issues with this one and it’s not working” implying that I didn’t truly earn the points for my smoothie. After waiting for 15 minutes for the manager to get their scanner plugged in, my barcode actually worked. Where I was shocked is that even after waiting the 15 minutes for them to get my barcode to work they STILL made me wait for my smoothie. I knew for a fact something was up after how the manager had spoken to me then made me wait as long as she could. I knew they wouldn’t be expecting it, and I left my car in the drive through to walk to the door to see what was going on. I could not believe what I witnessed as one of the girls SPIT in my smoothie before she blended it. Trust me, I am in shock too. I have called corporate and am now warning the public-nobody should have to worry about being assaulted when going to a tropical smoothie. Their motto is “nice people are our kind of people” which I think is a complete joke after this experience. DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING THIS LOCATION because you will be disappointed you spent time...

Update: The manager called me up and apologized & assured me they were working on the issue and talking to employees about being more organized and paying better attention. He was very kind & offered me a coupon for my trouble. I appreciate that he took the time to get ahold of me, so I changed my rating. I wish them all success!

Three because the food and smoothies are delicious, and high quality. Definitely recommend if you want something tasty and dont mind waiting in line FOREVER. I would have given 4 stars if not for a negative experience I had today. I was given my food in a fair amount of time, but I still needed my smoothie. I figured they may have forgotten to make it which is fair enough, but the longer and longer I sat and watched people inside receive their food I began to suspect they forgot me altogether. I was waiting so long that the person behind me had their passenger get out and go inside to pick up their food, which made me feel bad. I kept trying to catch the cashier's eye to ask what was going on. She saw me looking, but did not come back to the window. Finally another lady noticed me, and said something to the cashier while pointing to something, which turned out to be my smoothie sitting there for who knows how long. She handed it to me and apologized, but there was no reason for that besides her lack of attention. I try to be understanding in the drive through, but that was ridiculous. It didnt seem to be terribly...

I try to keep my money in my city but 9 out of 10 times that I go to this particular one, something is messed up, too small, not consistent with every other store, old, undercooked, overcooked, or rotten. The number on the receipt is disconnected. The number on Google doesn't work. You can't call and speak to a manager. You have to drive all the way back up there. Today's issue is undercooked rice and cold ingredients on a warm wrap. The rice looks straight out of the bag. It is a shame that you have to sit at the window and actually bite into your food before you leave to make sure it's correct and fresh. I'll just have my food Door Dashed from the Southside store from now on.

UPDATE: 30 Minutes later we have our new order and I bite into it and it tastes different than it usually does. Why??? Because it's freaking chicken!!! They replaced our Vegan order with Chicken!!! I have flesh stuck in my teeth!!! My husband ate his whole wrap before I bit mine and realized what was in it. His stomach is messed up and I'm back up here talking to two teenagers that have to call the manager to see how to fix this. I will NEVER go here...
