Golden Delight Bakery — Restaurant in Mifflin Township

I ordered a cake in advance and provided a picture to the bakery (see the first picture below) which they confirmed they could replicate. The only modifications I requested were changing baby blue to pink and replacing flowers with more stars. However, when I arrived for pickup, the cake was not as expected. Instead of the icing disco balls shown in the reference, they placed three tiny plastic disco balls in random spots. There was also no writing on the cake initially.

A young employee, whom I had never seen before, quickly added the lettering upon request. The result was smudged, uneven, and white on a light pink background—barely visible. When I asked for corrections and inquired about the missing icing disco balls, she simply said they used plastic ones because they already had them. I requested more decorations to fill the empty space. She went back and returned with a cake that now had gray lettering and icing disco balls—but still asymmetrical and very messy. She made these changes without even discussing them with me.

I paid $120 for this cake, and with 60 seniors coming to my daughter’s birthday party, I had no time to order a replacement. Had they been honest upfront about their limitations, I would have gladly taken my business elsewhere. Instead, I was left with a disappointing cake at the last minute, with no time to fix it. Awesome cake, terrible service! Me and my husband ordered $1000+ worth of cake from this bakery for our wedding. The cakes were absolutely delicious but the service was AWFUL. They called days before the wedding and seemed to have no clue what we had placed and order for. Me and my husband had to remind them of everything we had ordered and how it was supposed to be designed just days before our wedding. Every time we called it seemed we had to remind them of what everything in our order was. Mind you all of this was supposed to have been written down. Then on the day of the wedding as we are breaking down we realize that no boxes were left to transport the extra cake. When my husband called to inquire about this as we threw away literally hundreds of dollars worth of cake the lady on the phone was snarky, rude, and unpleasant. While the cake might be amazing, make sure you ask yourself first if the terrible service...

I was just there and I totally understand they might be overwhelmed because it’s a day before Mother’s Day. I asked for 2 8in cakes one mocha the other strawberry I wanted happy birthday with names on both which she asked me to write to make sure she got it right. The lid where she took my mocha cake said 7” and I asked oh you have 7” too which the other guy next to her said with a attitude no that’s why you don’t see it in the menu a simple no was enough but they both took it an extra mile to make me feel bad for asking a simple question. She start writing the names and she is looking at the paper and gets it wrong so I told her it was wrong at the beginning she got mad that she messed up she tried to clean it up but left it looking worse.
