Very disappointed in my experience here. My father and I went for lunch and I am vegetarian and he is vegan. Generally there are more than 2 options on the lunch menu for us but here there weren’t, forcing my father to get something not on the lunch menu which was annoying since we are on a budget. I got the broccoli with garlic sauce and my father got the vegetable fried rice. With the lunch special they offer a side of a soup and I picked hot and sour. Generally this soup is vegetarian. Here it is not. This was not their fault, nor mine either, but it should be mentioned. I removed the meat and ate it anyways so it did not go to waste, but it should be noted it was not very spicy (good if you want mild though). When our food arrived, I was disappointed to realize that they gave me pork fried rice instead of the white rice I had requested, which the waitress had acknowledged and repeated back to me. I sent the dish back to the kitchen and they gave me a half-hearted apology and came back two minutes later, clearly having scraped the fried rice off the plate and replaced it with white rice. When I actually started to eat, however, it became clear that there was no garlic flavor whatsoever and that they simply drowned the broccoli in duck sauce. It was extremely sweet and not the salty, garlicky dish I expected. Not wanting to be rude, I ate it anyways but I was disappointed in what I received. My father’s fried rice was served correctly and in a timely fashion, so no complaints there. There was only one waitress that was not cold to us there. No one came back to check on us at any point in the meal, and we had to stand up and walk over to the staff at another table to get our check. Unfortunately but obviously we will not be going back. Overall/TLDR: Staff: 2/5, uninviting besides one person Service: 1/5, slow and unattentive Food: 2/5, got dish incorrect and quality wasn’t great Environment/setting: 1/5, so dark and gloomy inside and no music or background noise so I could hear the people...
Read moreTwice I have had food from here since we moved to this area, and both times were very good. They give you a good amount of food and the prices are decent, some things are even cheaper than other places I have been to. I found this to be a plus! Having a family of 5, and everyone wants something different, it really helps finding a place that has good food, and good prices! When I called to order our food, the woman that answered spoke perfect English. I had no troubles understanding her. She clearly explained what was in a couple of dishes when questioned about what was in them, slowly so I could keep up. You know how some times you ask what is in something, and they say it so fast, you say can you repeat that I did not catch half of what you said? Like they are always in a hurry? Not the case here. I am relieved. Because there are so many dishes I would like to try, but not sure of what is in it, what kind of sauce, etc. She told us it would be ready in 10 minutes, I hung up the phone and thought, Oh no...it will take us about 30-35 mins to drive there and it will be sitting all that time. So I called back, asked her if she could have it ready 30 mins from then, she said of course we can do that. Everything went smoothly when my husband picked everything up. She was very polite. My children loved everything they had, and wanted seconds even! I will definitely go back...
Read moreVery disappointed. I had been to this restaurant before the Pandemic a few years ago and it was fine. Although overpriced for Chinese food, the ambiance was worth it. Now it's take out only, they say because of COVID. Which is fine too. But, although there is a sign that says masks are required, none of the workers there wear one. Now, on to the food. It was mediocre. The Pork egg foo young was not served with separate sauce. The hot and sour soup was horrible. No taste, lots of soy curds but hardly any vegetables or seasoning, Not "hot" at all and hardly any mushrooms. The price: They charged an extra 3.95% to pay by card. Does not matter if its a debit or credit card. The combo egg foo young was 10.75 and you could not substituted the egg roll for anything else. The A La Cart Egg foo Young, is 9.75 which is not much different. So, if you must go here, order A La Cart... the Egg Roll is not worth it. There are better Chinese restaurants in Port Jervis or on 6 going towards 84 is a Chinese Buffet restaurant next to a mote which is much better and you get a better deal. You can dine in and they wear masks and...
