Bertie’s Creative Creamery — Restaurant in Milford

Please bear with me....

Me and my wife drove 7 hours from MD yesterday with my 2 daughters. Today....we dropped the oldest daughter at Dean College to start her freshman year. As you can imagine, this evening was challenging for us to manage our emotions. After dinner I could sense the emotions building in my wife. I asked if she wanted a class of wine. Instead, she wanted ice cream. I found Bertie's and got my wife and youngest daughter in the truck. We all ordered small servings in a cup.

As we got in the car, my wife says, "That place was really cute!" Right after my youngest daughter says, " and everyone was so nice."

Needless to say, the mood changed as I heard a constant scrapping of empty cups.

Thanks to you and your staff on a Tuesday evening for making the sun shine on a gloomy day. Ice cream makes everything better but Bertie's turned an emotional evening into a special...

Would be five stars as the ice cream Is delicious. We go all the time with our two daughters. We always get the kids one scoop as that’s more than enough for them. This time my 5 year old really wanted two flavors. They refused to allow her to select two flavors for a single scoop. Not just the girls scooping but also the manger. I even questioned why they couldn’t do a half scoop( didn’t seem like an odd request) but they acted like I was asking them to split the atom or something. My five year old was flexible and just picked one flavor unlike the staff and manager who were not, although I could see the disappointment in her face the entire time. Not worth it to me. Can find better ice cream elsewhere.

CONS:

Bertie's has a subpar selection of flavors. The ice cream does not have enough mix-ins (I've tried Seaside S'mores, PB Cup, Twisted Sea Turtle, and Strawberry Cheesecake). I have also tried their frappes. While decent in thickness, any mix-ins that did exist were obliterated in the blender. Overpriced. Should offer a customer reward card. Buy so many ice creams/frappes, get one free or at least 1/2 price.
