My parents came up for the weekend, and it was my sister’s turn to choose a place. She decided on Costa Peru. The highlight of our experience was definitely the service. Everyone was incredibly kind, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The music added a nice touch and created a lively and enjoyable vibe.
The appetizers were solid, offering classic Peruvian options that you really can’t go wrong with. Unfortunately, things went downhill when it came to the entrées. My husband ordered the Lomo Saltado, but the beef was extremely chewy, and the sauce had an odd, unidentifiable flavor. I had the salmon, but the sauce was overwhelmingly salty, and I couldn’t eat it. To make matters worse, all the food arrived at room temperature, which was disappointing. The only saving grace was my dad’s ceviche, which he absolutely loved.
Since we barely touched our entrées, we had room for dessert. The ice cream was decent, although the portion was huge, so we couldn’t finish it. My sister’s flan, however, was a standout. It was smooth, flavorful, and by far the best thing we had.
Despite the great service and good appetizers, the entrées were a major letdown. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t...
Read moreMy partner and I recently visited Costa Peru for lunch after hearing about their opening. Having enjoyed Ceviche during my travels in Peru, I was excited to share this experience with him, as he had never tried it before. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were so delighted with our late lunch that we were already planning what to try next time!
Reading some of the reviews, it's clear how easy it is to disparage a new business without understanding the effort behind it. The service here is top-notch, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. Should I rate it lower because I prefer a mid-century modern aesthetic over modern glam? Absolutely not.
Having been to Peru, I can confidently say that the Ceviche here is just as good as it was in Lima. My one recommendation is to adjust the menu to clearly indicate which items are soups. We ordered an item "From the Sea" and were surprised when it was served as a soup.
Overall, our meal was fantastic, and we look forward to coming back to try more dishes. It's a bit on the pricier side, so we'll be coming for special occasions. Costa Peru is a wonderful addition to the dining scene, and I highly...
Read moreDrove up from NY to take the wife, mother in law and sister in law to an early Mother’s Day dinner. It’s a nice small restaurant with a polite staff. That being said drinks, appetizers and kids food came out fast. Three of the four remaining meals came out at a reasonable time frame. After few minutes our server came over and apologized there was a problem with my meal. I politely said it’s ok. 30 minutes later we are wrapping up food to go. He comes back a few minutes later and said he’ll rush the food. I told him that’s fine, you can pack mine to go. Every one in my party is now done with their food. Leftovers are in the bag packed and ready to go and I still never received my food. After finally getting my food, I left very unhappy and hungry with an hour...
