Ambrosia Bakery - Milford — Restaurant in Milford

We found a melted bit of plastic in our cake. A result, maybe, of someone accidentally dropping their hair clip? I don't know. We returned to confront management and were told to "prove it". Upon return, the owner seemed intent on placing the blame at our feet and never entirely admitted to any fault. I'm not sure if they were implying we planted the plastic...in our own cake? But management was unwilling to hear any of it and assured us there would be no refund for a partially eaten item.

I expected an apology and a free replacement cake, not a refund. But we got neither.

Apparently management has been replaced by grubby, rogue swindlers. They're definitely coasting on the reputation that Ambrosia has for Milford residents. I doubt they'll see growth, as poor management spreads like infection until the body is septic.

Hopefully anyone who sees this will deprive them of your business, as there are better bakeries and respectful owners you can...

Bad experience with Ambrosia Bakery on Naugatuck Ave this last week. Ordered a small cake for a memorable family event.

The baker said that in order to place the order, you had to pay in full for the cake in advance. That was fine, no problem at all. Luckily we got a receipt.

Then we called on Monday to see if we could change the date on the order to a day earlier. They told us on the phone that we hadn't paid for the cake, and that the order would not be filled unless it was paid for. We had to walk in and show our receipt.

Today, we went to pick up the cake, and again, they said the cake was not paid for!! Again, they asked for the receipt as proof. Our family is outraged. Very unprofessional.

Be very careful doing any business with this Bakery. God forbid this was a large event with a large order and we were to deal with the same situation. Not a trustworthy and...

Bought a cake for my bf and it tastes so stale and bad. The woman didn't know what the cakes were. I told her he wanted something chocolate and peanut butter or anything chocolate and the cake she gave me was mousse she said yet it was vanilla. Only the cream was mousse. I have never in my life seen a mousse cream cake used on vanilla batter! The pastries were delicious tho that's why I am giving 2 stars but the cake is disgusting and now I have a whole disgusting expensive cake that is gonna go to trash. The woman was also nice but it still doesn't make up for the disgusting embarrassing cake I surprised my bf with. Never buying cake from...
