Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Milford

There is a rustic old charm that is a feeling of nostalgia.The decor, and all the old interesting designs &items throughout restaurant, whether on walls, hanging from ceilings. A really nice vibe throughout the whole place. No wait time! Easy& convenient from hiway. Big parking Lot! My man and I were seated right away & our waitress was very nice.The food was amazing. Both my significant other &I had an amazing breakfast!Delicious, fresh,& filling! I look forward to returning and they have some great deals for some takeout dinners as well that we will try out!The had brown casserole is AMAZING though and by far my absolute favorite!!! I was still thinking about it over a decade later, since I was last there, and it did not disappoint. Waitress was nice, helpful, quick service. The restaurant is very big but it was clear to see that the service workers on restaurant really work very hard and can use a break, or maybe more staff to help out. Everyone was professional and friendly but they were rushing around to make sure to keep all their customers happy. They appeared to be going over and above but with being such a busy place, I can't imagine the work load and etc. So way to go to all the workers there helping to do the best jobs they can for the customers! We tried to reflect our gratitude in our tip.The women bathroom was clean and stocked and all good.A favorite part of my experience here is the general store. It's so charming and rustic with charm.They have beautiful gifts for all people of all ages and all different price points!From their special candy I remember getting as a kid at various locations. They have beautiful hand and body care items, beautiful clothes, scarves, gloves, accessories, clothes for infants, kids and adults. All beautiful womens clothing of various styles.Plus the infant to children's clothing and accessories are absolutely adorable!!! This is a fantastic place to get a gift or a gift card!They also have really cool toys and stuffed animals and books. There is something there for everyone and again, at all different price points. I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality of items, yet the prices were good and at least fair. I found a beautiful pair of gloves I bought for myself. They are gorgeous and well made and will last! When I got to the check out counters, I was told that they were on sale and even cheaper than I had anticipated.Just a heads up, they are currently having a 40 percent off sale off select winter items! Check it out!Also the gentlemen and the women at the checkout counters of the county store they have there, were both so down to earth, friendly, offered extra savings through the free rewards program they have. It only took a minute and they expressed how many ways I can save and explained how the program works!I was Happy to sign up, and they did encourage downloading the app in the store and restaurant to make whole experience better and easier. I have not downloaded app yet, but I'll give it a try and see what I think. I'll definitely return again to the Milford CT location. It was so nice to have a good fresh delicious breakfast with my man, and have it be affordable. So much better quality breakfast foods and so much charm.The whole visit is a lovely experience from start to end. We really enjoyed ourselves! Left full and happy and will come back soon! This is not the way Cracker Barrel was years ago. I called to place an order for pickup ( Easter) I figured they’d be busy- no problem. I called at 4:55 and ordered the Easter dinner consisting of ham, turkey and 2 sides and a few sides of dumplings. The woman said pick up at 6:10 so I thought they must be busy ( when I got there they weren’t at all not surprised after my ordeal) we went early to see if it was ready, oh it was ready, it was sitting on the to go shelf, no heat lamp keeping it warm, so I asked the cashier ( who was very friendly Spanish guy) how long had it been sitting there? He said “maybe 10 mins” I said I’m going to make sure it’s not cold so felt the containers ( COLD) I asked if they could heat it up they said no they’re busy ( not from what I saw) I asked for a manager because I wasn’t paying $44.00 for cold food that was sitting there. Manager comes up already could tell she was rude and didn’t want to be bothered, I explained I was told to come at 6:10 to pick up my food and got there at 5:30 but was ice cold. She didn’t say 2 words to me, went to the register and rung me up, I said how much did you take off my bill? She said $7 I was not happy, i would have been happy if they reheated our food! Not a sorry for the inconvenience nothing just cold nasty attitude. We get outside and start to open the food ( we had to eat on the go) and the food looked and tasted disgusting. My ham looked like a leftover piece you bring home for the dog, one small slice of turkey, ice cold carrots and green beans, cold mashed potatoes with caked on gelatonous brown cold gravy, biscuit and cornbread were hard and cold and the dumplings were cold and flavorless. And they didn’t put the slice of pecan pie that came with the dinner in the bag. I called 4 times when I got home to ask the managers name so when I wrote my review I could include it but, it sounds like they outsourced their customer service to another country! I’m including the pictures of the food. So basically my food would have been sitting there over 40 mins if I didn’t come when I did, I’m making a call to the health dept to as that’s dangerous people can get sick from that! We have been there I. Two different occasions recently and both were not the greatest. First we had family come visit so we thought it was a good idea to go to Cracker Barrel for dinner. We had a young man as our server who seemed attentive and friendly and once we got our entrées, we ate our dinner and sat waiting around. He never came back to see if we needed refills on drinks or if we needed anything else finally after waiting about 45 minutes after we had finished our meal, we got the attention of another server that was working who told us she would go find him and send him right out. Same server came back and we were informed that our server walked out of the restaurant in the middle of his shift. After she informed us of this, she told us the manager would be out shortly to speak with us and they apologize. Waited another half hour and no manager showed up to speak with us. We went and paid our bill even asked about giving a tip to the buses and other staff that help since the waiter wasn’t there anymore, but they told us only the servers got the tips so we didn’t leave anything. Fast-forward to today there was only four of us that showed up today and the restaurant was not crazy busy as it usually can be we ordered our drinks. The server returned. We ordered our entrées and we sat there for almost a half hour no cornbread no biscuits no refills on our drinks. Our entrées were brought out Two of them were wrong and half of it was cold. We never got refills on our drinks our server only came back to bring us the check and thank goodness we looked at it because we were charged for the entrées that were messed up. These entrées were supposed to be combination platters, but only came with half of the Combination so we had them adjusted and we left after waiting 20 more minutes for that to get resolved and for them to bring us the check we really do like this restaurant and are hoping that is just a coincidence we had these two bad experiences recently and that if they are having staff problems they get resolved For their sake as I said it’s a great place most of the time but these last two experiences make me question when the next time is,...
