10 out of 10. I knew I had to try to food. As a fellow Caribbean American from NYC now residing in Milford, I had to try it. Itâs a challenge to find authentic Jamaican cuisine in CT. I ordered 3 plates of jerk chicken with rice and peas and 1 fried chicken with rice and peas. It included Veggies and plantain. Listen! Before I get to the food, the hospitality shown by Chef Omar was 5 star âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸. He is such a gem, so I knew the food was going to be delicious. They say when Jamaicans are nice the food is bad but I beg to differ. In some places thatâs true but other places not so much. But he warmed up once he realized we were Caribbean as well. Nuff respect âđź. I could not wait to get home and chow down. The food was so good, the left overs were non existent. My son finished his by end of night. My husband ate all of his, my mom the same and I went back for more. Itâs seasoned just right and the fried chicken amazing. It was so good. Thank God this place exists because I love me some food from back home and need it. We will be back and next time sending my husband. Heâs a chef as well. đGod bless this business and the owners and workers. May they thrive for many...
Read moreI recently got a recommendation from a friend to try Lockeâs Caribbean, and I didnât hesitateâI love jerk chicken! I ordered the jerk chicken, which came with rice, beans, and vegetables, and it was absolutely delicious. I wasnât sure what to get for my wife, so I asked Omar for a suggestion that wasnât too spicy. He recommended the brown stew chicken, and she loved it!
While waiting, I tried one of the freshest, flakiest beef patties Iâve ever had. The food was incredible, but what really stood out was Omar behind the counter. He was kind, friendly, and a wonderful addition to Milford.
If youâre ever in the area and looking for a little flavor in your life, I highly recommend Lockeâs Caribbean. You wonât be...
