The defining characteristics of this place are its amiable staff and exceptional location. Nestled in the heart of downtown Milford, it boasts convenient parking and an inviting, heated outdoor space, perfect for the early March chill. The views of the pond, waterfall, and tower add a scenic touch, making it a beloved hometown favorite that truly lives up to its reputation. This establishment is more than just a place for drinks; it's an ideal venue for socializing in a pleasant, moderate-volume atmosphere, offering sports viewing if desired, but primarily celebrated for its delightful dining experience amidst picturesque surroundings. It stands out not just as a brewery but is renowned for both its culinary delights and inviting ambiance. The comfort food here epitomizes warmth and satisfaction, with traditional bar favorites served in a charming environment and often given a unique twist. The pretzels, exceptionally prepared, come with a creative dip that tantalizes the taste buds, compelling one to indulge further. The nachos, a consistent favorite among us, and the burgers and fries leave nothing to be desired, each dish encapsulating the soul of classic pub cuisine. Visiting this place is a reliable choice for a casual dinner with our family or a relaxed evening out with friends, ensuring a gratifying experience every time.

While my daughter was at her college orientation, I asked the front desk for some places to eat. They highly recommended SBC. So off I went. Five minutes later I was down near the water at a quaint little restaurant/bar. They had live music playing inside but I opted to eat outside. I ordered a pineapple margarita but it tasted like a regular margarita and the tequila (they were out of 1800 and said they used patron) had a bitterness to it. I sent it back and stuck with water. I ordered the pork chop, which came with garlic roasted broccoli and mashed potatoes. It was AMAZING. The chop was tender and cut like butter. The roasted garlic broccoli was crisp and had a sweetness to it. The mashed potatoes were divine (although I didn't finish them because A- there was just too much food and B- I need to lower my saturated fats a bit *grin*) The bill came and they took off the margarita (I didn't expect that - It was my taste buds that didn't like it - the drink was fine ) So I left a 35 % tip because the waitress was attentive and a pleasure!! All in all a great place - even by yourself!

We had the Figgy Chicken and a hamburger. The Figgy Chicken was grilled chicken, fig jam, onions and goat cheese on a ciabatta roll. I love the goat cheese and fig jam combination. I rated it three stars because it was a little too sweet. A tad less fig jam and it would have been great. The amount of fig jam overpowered the rest of the ingredients. The service was great. They started out telling us that they were short staffed and that the service was going to be slow. But they actually hustled and provided quick service. I didn't give them more stars because I asked for dairy free options for my hamburger and was only told as the food was coming out that the bun and fries had dairy. So I just had a hamburger with lettuce and tomato on a plate. I would have ordered something else if I had the opportunity. The atmosphere was fun. There were a lot of people there. Our drinks came quickly, the music was just right so we could talk.

So although the food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent, my 1 star review pertains to the company’s promotions only valid towards online to go purchases and nothing for in restaurant visits. I don’t care what the post Covid trends may be, I personally do not place any online to go orders anywhere EVER. I do like luke warm nor cold food that is delivered or has to be picked up but fresh and hot food straight from the kitchen to my plate to enjoy. I truly don’t understand why companies whether a restaurant or retail store keep pushing online pick up orders. If I order online, my order is my order and that’s it. If I come in person I could be tempted to buy dessert, have another drink or 2, or buy other things spending more money than I would if I just ordered online. Do the owners of SBC not understand the concept of extra “impulse sales” creating more profits??? For this reason I just unsubscribed from their emails and will never dine there again because the owners do nothing for loyal “in house” dining customers who are spending much more in one order than to go customers who they solely cater to. It’s a shame because I really enjoy the restaurant and would go there more often if the owners did not choose to seclude there promotions solely for to go customers only. There’s no “atmosphere”eating in your car or your home that’s...

I recently tried the burger that completely redefined what a burger could be. From the first bite, it was clear that every element was crafted to perfection.

The beef patty was the star—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to a beautiful medium, with a slight char that added just the right amount of smokiness. You could tell it was high-quality meat, with a tenderness that made each bite melt in your mouth. They layered it with a slice of sharp cheddar, which had melted to the ideal, gooey consistency, adding a savory richness that complemented the beef without overpowering it.

What really set this burger apart, though, were the toppings. Crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and thinly sliced red onions added freshness and crunch, balancing out the richness of the patty and cheese. The house-made sauce was a revelation—creamy, tangy, and just a little bit sweet, bringing everything together with a subtle kick. And let’s not forget the bun: buttery, slightly toasted, and strong enough to hold up to all the ingredients without getting soggy.

Every detail was spot-on, making this burger a masterpiece of flavors and textures. If you’re a burger lover, you need to try this place—it’s clear they’re passionate about every bite,...
