I just moved into town and I wanted to treat a few friends who helped me to a good time. We ended up at my bar and grill to watch a post season hockey game. I had a good experience talking to the bouncer before hand convincing us to give this place a try. We just wanted to have a few beers and burgers. At first we wanted to sit at the table but since there was only 3 of us the owner asked us to sit at the bar incase "Big time" (a bigger group) came in. We said alright it wasn't the biggest deal but didn't necessarily enjoy the way he phrased the request. We sat down ordered 3 beers and started a tab. My one beer was flat and we all finished are beers relatively quick. Only one person seemed to be running the bar so it took us a while to be able to order anything else. While waiting to order 2 other customers came in and we got the vibe they are regulars and friends with the owner and we might of been in their usual seats. They lingered behind us until the customer got mad and said he will sit outside. While this was happening the owner put dirty glasses in front of my friend and he took it as an insult and was starting to get mad from the entire experience. My group talked amongst ourselfs feeling uncomfortable and maybe wanted to leave but we were already there and the game was almost over and we all were starving from moving all day so we said we are gonna order burgers and just tough it out and leave in 40 mins when the games over. Not 2 mins after we ordered our food (did not a get a refill) another employee we didn't even know worked there she seemed to apart of the group next to us walked over and told us we are going to have to move down the bar and we looked down the bar there was no place to move. We basically would of had to stand and eat our burgers but this was the last straw for me because I knew my friend was already mad and that request was very ridiculous . So I asked her to cancel my burgers and I put $30 down on the bar to pay for the beers. At this ponit we start heading to the door and the owner confronts us about placing burger orders we told him we are good and just wanted to leave money is on the bar for the beers but he stood in the doorway and got semi aggressive. Instead of just saying why don't you take the burgers to go and apologize he doubled down and said the burgers hit the grill we have have pay for them (keep in mind only 3 mins went by from us ordering the food and the owner knew about it from outside the bar which means they must of been talking about us). My friend who was steaming mad already got aggressive back and then the bartender said I'll take care of it in a condescending tone which made me nervous because my card was on the tab. As we walked out the owner said "we are 86d from the bar and held his hand over his head in a L shaped calling us a losers. I was nervous about my card being on file so my buddy decided to go back and hand them even more money and said don't charge my card on file. I checked my statement this morning and I got charged $20 without me signing a receipt.
So all in all we missed the 3rd period of the hockey game that our team won and paid $80 for 3 beers one being flat and 3 burgers we never got and my card was charged without my permission just because it was on file even after we paid ccash. a Good entrance turned into an episode of what felt like bar rescue. I actually wrote a sympathy letter to Jon Taffer via email and hopefully he can help these guys succeed in the future. I would never go back to this place and make sure I spread the word to everyone I meet. I never write reviews but this might of been the worst bar experience I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAll I wanted was to watch the islander game have a few beers, and a burger. What I got was an owner who told us not to take a table because three people wasnāt a big enough party. We sat at the bar the owner then put 4 dirty shot glasses over my shoulder on the bar. Even the random guy next to me was like Um what? Apparently we were in a regulars seat saw the owner pointing at us in the mirror of the bar. The regular says fine Iāll sit outside. We ordered three burgers and not even a minute later some employee (honestly thought she was a customer) tell us bad news we need you to move down... was a packed bar. So she says we need room we need to move. That was the deciding factor. We say cancel our burgers weāre leaving my friend throws $20 on the bar I throw down $10 the owner stops us at the door tells us to pay for the burgers( he knew our order so we were definitely a topic of discussion there) we get into a shouting match the bartender says with an attitude Iāll take care of it! So as we leave the owner follows us out and says youāre 86 from here you F*ing losers with the L on his forehead. Laughing that a grown man actually did that we say fine by us. My friend realized he opened a tab. So to avoid further confrontation and an excessive charge I walked back to the owner handed him another $30 told him we left $30 on the bar. I said we gave you $60 for 3 beers and burgers we didnāt eat. Thatās more then enough to cover it DONT DONT CHARGE MY FRIENDS CARD. Guess what the grown man who made a L on his forehead did. Yup charged my friends card for $20. So in all we paid $80 on 3 beers! Honestly I could have left it alone but itās the fact he charged the card after I gave him cash. He had no issues stuffing that money in his pocket. We went to founders house pub right across the street and they treated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friends and I definitely wonāt be coming back here. We went out for my friends birthday and decided to go to My bar after for a round or two. The second we got in there the bartender was rude with us and said, āwell Iām going to ID all of you because none of you even look of age to be hereā, (I was there last Saturday and was not carded with the 3 others I was with nor have I ever been carded there) every single one of us were 21. The owner of the bar then watched us for the rest of the night. I guess someone vaped in the bar which is not right, I agree with him, but he screamed in the guys face, very loud and angry, I didnāt get why he was so furious when the front doors were open and everyone from the patios cigarette smoke was coming straight into the place. We then were waiting to leave outside because we felt so uncomfortable by him and he continued to watch us like we needed parenting, no one was wasted, just highly uncomfortable. We all agreed to never go back there, we are a good group of young adults, weāve all worked the food industry we understand it gets busy and sometimes people let their frustrations get to them, we tip 20%, and once we find a place we like, we stay loyal to it, but My Bar is not worth it when there are so many nice friendly and hip bars around that area! Ellis and stonebridge are such a great time , so I recommend...
