Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Milford

Hands down the best Popeyes I have ever been to! I first came in and used the restroom. I was shocked how clean the restroom was. I then went to order my spicy family tender meal as I always do, and was unfortunately informed that they ran out of spicy and it was still marinating. Much to my chagrin, I ordered the regular tenders. And mashed potatoes and red beans and rice as my sides. And Mardi Gras mustard as my dip. What I'm assuming was the owner and his wife were working the counter, so I didn't ask for extra dip. And only 3 were put in the bag, but knew I had more at home so I didn't bother asking for more. My husband and I were door dashing and just planned on eating in the car and knew the rest could be eaten when I got home. Well let me tell you. The tenders didn't make it home, and not a drop of mustard was used! The tenders were cooked perfectly, they didn't need dip to make them more palatable. They were moist and tender. I didn't miss the spice. I didn't miss the mustard. My husband ordered the ghost pepper sandwich with cheese and bacon. He said it was the best chicken sandwich he has ever had from anywhere. I used to joke and say that Chick-fil-A was the Lord's chicken. Well this Popeyes chicken was seriously touched by the hand of God! This is not my hometown Popeyes. I live about 45 minutes away. However I promise you! I will be calling this Popeyes my regular Popeyes now! Its worth the drive! I then got a door dash order from that Popeyes and I was talking to the customer when I dropped it off and he too agreed with me and said he hadn't tried it for the longest time but now that he has, he won't go anywhere else! I seriously could go on and on on all the ways that this Popeyes is far superior than any of the other Popeyes I have been to up and down the east coast. But I have gone on long enough! Delivery drivers stay away. Would give zero stars if I could. The woman who claims to be the "owner of Popeyes" is the most unprofessional, conflictive person I've encountered in the food industry. I work Door Dash and Uber Eats and 9/10 times the food is not ready and you have to wait a long time. They are often out of items and don't try to communicate with the customers or answer the phone when the customers call. Their stated closing time is 10PM, but it turns out they close at 9:30PM. Door Dash requires you take a picture of the restaurant showing that it's closed to cancel the order and get reimbursed. As I proceeded to take the picture, the woman screams that I am doing something illegal and she is going to call 911. I proceed to explain to her what I'm doing and why I am doing it. She claims I am lying as Door Dash knows she closes at 9:30PM (if that is the case I wouldn't have been sent to pick up the order, plus even Google shows that the hours are 10PM). She proceeds to take a picture of my license plate, to which I don't object, she is within her right, and tells me once more that she is calling 911. So now not only am I late to my next order because she never updated the hours with Door Dash and I wasted my trip (and the customer wasted their time), but I'm also late due to having to hear her nonsensical rant. If you truly are the owner of the franchise, I feel sorry for your employees, and you need to reconsider your approach at customer service, hire a manager if you don't know how to talk to people. EDIT I dropped 2 stars. This location is stil preferable over Dover however, this location needs to get it together. The woman in drive thru is nice but rude at same time if you can understand what she’s saying. Please note that I always place an order ahead on the app for pick up. First encounter with her, I asked for sauces when she handed me food. She proceeds to say “I’ll give it to you this time but you need to do it in the app” so my next order (I scheduled a specific time for p/u) I purposely looked for condiments n that is NOT an option in app. Anyway I picked inside p/u so I don’t have to deal with her. Low n behold I pull up for my 8pm order and doors locked. They’re closed but online n app say lobby open until 9. I go thru drive thru and they still parked me for 10 mins And order was wrong. At least she didn’t give me hell about hot sauce she must’ve known she was wrong n ridiculous. Sad we have to pick our battles just to get decent food around here.*
