I've been wanting to try MQ for some time now. Looking on Yelp, I was interested in the healthy options this fast food joint had to offer. We finally made it here for lunch. The location is right on El Camino and there is a parking lot. MQ also offers drive-thru. There is plenty of space to eat there. We opted to order and eat there in the small outdoor dining area.
Upon placing my order by scanning the QR code in store and placing it online, I asked about the free can of sparkling water that comes as part of checking in on Yelp.
Lance, the owner, said he would bring it right out to me. A few minutes later, Lance came to our table with three cans of sparkling water for us. He was super friendly and truly showed an interest in how we heard about his place, what city we live, our names, etc. He went onto give us an overview of their mission as far as serving up healthy, good quality food and plans to expand to a larger menu with beer and wine. He said the pandemic impacted them quite a bit but business is slowly picking up again.
Our food arrived fast. Everything was tasty and fresh. I can't wait to come again and look forward to seeing more menu options in the future.

We tried MQ Healthy Fast Food today and we were pleasantly surprised! Lance helped us at the drive thru and was super friendly. Lance guided us through the menu since it was our first time.
We tried the salmon & the chicken. Both exceeded our expectations! Both dishes tasted super fresh and delicious. We also loved their unique lemonade!
We can't wait to come back!
Sabrina V.Elite 2022 San Francisco, CA 24177342 8/15/2022 This place doesn't look like much when you first walk in, it clearly was a fast food restaurant at first, now transformed into a healthy dining spot. Indoor and outdoor seating available, even a drive thru.
The menu options are pretty affordable considering the food being healthy, and I like how they tell you how many grams of protein/carbs you're getting on the online menu. I really do appreciate the goals and values of this restaurant, and I think they're doing a great job and making great effort with the messaging behind their food.
The chicken was really crispy and wasn't greasy at all! Had great breading and the chicken was still juicy. However, the ginger sesame dressing was unnecessary for me. It had a strong and overpowering taste that didn't compliment the light meal, so I think next time I'll try a different dressing. I also really like the potatoes and yams included.
I think I'd come back if I was in the area. I don't feel like a gross grease blob after eating this meal, so I like that.
Stephanie R. Millbrae, CA 033 11/19/2022 1 photo I had only heard good things about this restaurant and since the remodel, I was very intrigued to finally check it out. I was very surprised to see how they had completed transformed what used to be Burger King, you cannot tell whatsoever that it was one before. The decor and overall aesthetic initially caught my attention but even more so was the caring staff. Everyone was very attentive towards my friends and I's wants and questions regarding the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and made me feel good about my choice of lunch since it was tasty and actually good for my body! I had the salad bowl with chicken katsu and a mango smoothie. I loved my first experience and am looking forward to many more!

Read moreMy partner and I tried MQ Healthy Fast Food for the first time after seeing this restaurant while we passed by in the area. We decided to drop by and dine-in, since we saw some of the other Yelp reviews. (Also had a drive thru option, but this review is about our dining in the restaurant).
There is a nice, spacious parking lot and 2 large dining areas indoors. One has many picnic style benches and another is a cozy, casual eatery. The interior is freshly renovated and very clean and modern.
We ordered the following: crispy chicken burger, teriyaki salmon, tiramisu, chocolate croissant, and a molten chocolate cake.
Crispy Chicken Burger: comes with the burger with the works + salad + fries. My partner said this was SO delicious! Our server, Orlando, kindly provided my partner with a green spicy sauce. The sauce was DELICIOUS! It paired so well with the burger. Highly recommend the sauce for anyone looking for a bit of a kick with their burger. The chicken was delicious and crispy, while the bun was fluffy and very filling! The fries were lightly salted and were cooked to perfection.
Teriyaki Salmon: OMG. If you like fish, highly highly highly recommend. The sides were: forbidden rice blend, salad, a little orange, pickled (?) cucumbers (with a great seasoning blend), a hefty amount of deshelled edamame. The sides were so delicious and very satisfying. Everything was incredibly well-seasoned without anything being overwhelming. The fish had a beautiful crisp crust and was immaculately soft and tender. I cannot stop thinking about it! The teriyaki sauce was light and not heavy. The meal was beautifully balanced and included a lot of protein in it.
Desserts: my partner devoured the molten cake and chocolate croissant. He said both were delicious and definitely great picks for chocolate lovers. He said that the croissant was light and buttery, while the cake was moist and quite rich. I had the tiramisu and it was a delightful treat at the end of the meal. The chocolate was deep and rich. Nothing was overly sweet, which was a huge plus for us!
The service and customer experience here is truly a high point here. Lance, one of the owners, is unbelievably kind and so welcoming. Orlando, one of the front of house staff, is so attentive and helpful. As we wrapped up our meal, we let Lance know that the salmon was phenomenal, and he brought out Raoul, the head chef, and Mateo, the line cook who made the salmon. Both were so kind and we were so grateful to them for their hard work and delicious food! (Our apologies in advance for any name misspelling or incorrectness). After this, my partner and I agreed that it was such a wholesome and very memorable dining experience!
We will definitely be back for more healthy, energizing eats! We can’t wait to try out the drive thru on our busy days. Thank you so very much to the whole staff for making this such a...
Read moreLance and Mindy run a great restaurant with tasty, healthy reasonably priced food that we always enjoy! We live downtown, and MQ healthy is a very welcome addition to Millbrae dining.
I like to try different things from the menu, and the standouts are the crispy chicken, which is good both katsu-style or in a chicken sandwich. I also liked the grilled chicken with lemon and caper sauce. Always juicy and cooked right.
The pork chop sandwich is also a great option, as well as the slow cooked Asian pork ribs that were added recently.
I liked the fish and chips and the fish tacos. I don't know if it's cod or another white fish but it's well cooked and not over-done. I haven't tried the Basa they started serving on weekends yet but I bet it's just as good!
The appetizers like the coconut shrimp and calamari are quite good too if you like a little fried stuff, and the veggie spring rolls are hearty with a starchy filling which I'm guessing might be taro(?) and some nice thick dipping sauce that falls on the sweeter side, rather than salty.
Split pea soup has been a nice addition, and I'm looking forward to trying the chicken tortilla soup soon.
Most plates are served with a side of cabbage slaw/salad with a nice light (non-mayo) sesame dressing I believe. It does have a little shredded beet, but it hasn't been a problem for me who doesn't usually like beets too much. Their 'forbidden rice' is also cooked perfectly and compliments the dishes that it comes with. The french fries are one of my favorites and are light and crispy on the outside.
Their desserts are top notch with the often sold out Oreo cheesecake being a favorite. But we've also really enjoyed their tarts and the cookies they recently started serving, as well. Every once in a while we do get the steamed buns which are smaller than some places but have quite tasty filling.
We typically order to-go since we're so close to them, but their dining space is awesome! The outdoor seating and fire pit is a great addition for the nice weather coming soon (hopefully). You can tell they put a lot of thought into their space and how comfortable their dine-in customers will feel. They take pride in their food and service and I would definitely recommend this family-run business to locals and visitors. This is what good service looks like!
If you can't tell yet, we get food from here weekly if not a couple times a week! Definitely worth a try if you're in the neighborhood or driving through town. They've done wonders to the inside and have some really comfy dining outside now as it warms up for the summer. Do yourself a favor and...
