EVOO & LEMON — Restaurant in Millburn

There's noting too unique or special about this place... but my friend just brought me here... and the food is delicious. The prices are standard for any restaurant in this area of Jersey. (overpriced, basically). I don't know if there's anything I would change about this place.... except maybe I'd lower the prices. Regardless, we had a great meal and great service.

My experience would have been better if we knew it was BYOB beforehand. Nevertheless, everything we ordered tasted hot and fresh. I don't eat fish so I was very limited in options... but I made a meal out of the sides and spreads. I wish it was a little more vegetarian friendly. Salads are boring.

But my friend got the Ahi Tuna and he ate it within five minutes, maybe less. He said it tasted "extremely good", ordered it again, and told me we that we should go back soon. So he'd give this place 5 stars, and I'd give this place 3 stars on account of the total lack of vegetarian entrees. So.....I'd give this restaurant 3 or 4 stars to balance it out.

(I know vegetarians/ vegans can be boring)

If you're OK with meat (like red snapper, branzino, chicken, or fliet mingon) this is the place for you. If you're vegetarian or vegan, there are other places in Milburn/ Short Hills than can accommodate you a little better.

PS: I didn't ask the waitress if there was anything the cooks could whip up as an entree that's vegetarian because I was too shy.... but I'm sure if I asked they could have made something "off the menu." Either way... the menu itself is fairly meat center.

Regardless, the waitress and hostess was friendly and courteous. I just wish I asked about vegetarian options instead of ordering spreads and sides as my main dish. The spreads and sides were delicious, but not as satisfying as a "main" meal...

Costas and Hector are the best duo restaurant in this entire block.

Their unassuming kitchen in the front immediately let me know that they are preparing fresh food. I was welcomed to an open space in the back which was unknown to us! We walked in for brunch but we could Order form Dinner menu which yes ! Loved it because what’s the big deal? Hector the chef who comes with experience in NY Avra is ensuring you have a great pleasant time.

Their suppliers are the same from high end NYC restaurants like Avra and Milos but with better prices and you can really appreciate this in the quality of the food.

In a hot Saturday mid afternoon day… We had the seafood couscous , lamb chops , fresh spanakopita and our own bottle Of Santa Margherita sparkling rose. Which you can buy from two liquor stores close by them. Yes it is BYOB and this makes it even better. A secret trick …. You can put your name on the list ( write it on the bill) and they let you know when the special , rare fish are in. If you can afford the price 😊😉

I will visit again to try more things on their menu.

What a nice surprise for a hot summer Saturday when we were looking for something different, healthy , tasty and fresh to eat.

EVOO & LEMON is an absolutely amazing mediterranean seafood restaurant, and, from my extensive research, truly one of the best, if not the best, in the area. We discovered this restaurant in February this year, shortly after we moved in the area from NYC, and we have been taking out dinner from them each and every week since the crisis started. Our favorites are the octopus, the grilled shrimp, the grilled salmon, the branzino, and the black bass (when available). The baklava is to die for. The stuffed peppers appetizer is really good. And the vegan lentils soup is classic and exactly the taste I know and love. We don't eat meat so I can't comment on that front. The fish is always fresh and chef Hector would never compromise on the quality of their daily delivered seafood products. If it is not good quality, he does not take the delivery. Throughout the whole crisis the restaurant always kept the high standards of their cooking and kept working hard and with admirable passion throughout all the challenges. The food is package very well, so that when we take it out and unpack at home, everything is as tasty as it is when just cooked. I am a real monster when it comes to cleanliness and I absolutely never had even the slightest issue with EVOO & LEMON in...
