I’ve been here 3 times for 3 different services and each one left me more than disappointed. The first time was last year. I went to get a manicure and I specifically told him the man doing it that I wanted thin acrylics. He left my fingers with way too many cuts and it was beyond thick that I went the next day to get them removed at another Millburn salon. My nails were so damaged. The second time was in last September. I had very long hair but wanted to cut it right below my shoulder level. The man cut my hair so short, right under my ear and blew it out the opposite direction I wanted and it made me look like an actual coconut. I felt bad to say anything because he was nice so I just went home immediately to wash and style my hair. But today was beyond, hence I am finally writing a review. I went in for a full leg and arm wax. The lady spent literally 45 mins just to do a sloppy job on one arm. The wax left me burnt and so much residue was left. She first did at most 5 small strips and said, “Done” with my one arm. Like, are you kidding me? I am covered in hair, what do you mean done? I had to tell her every strip where to wax. Why am I doing their job? She is doing a terrible job. I had to immediately leave and only paid $25 for one arm. I still have so much hair with burnt marks. I should not have paid a single cent due to the unprofessional service and the damaged it caused my skin. I only paid because that salon was empty on a Friday morning, whereas every other salon in Millburn is packed. I tried every time to get a better result, and I hate writing bad reviews, and I do give a lot of chances, but this was necessary to share because they do not deserve any stars truthfully. I am only giving one star because they are nice, but in a pitiful sense. Advice: do not constantly ask your clients several time to write a 5 star review. If you provide good service,...
Read moreDon’t go if you don’t like random upcharges, shady management, and basic pedicures. Made an appointment in person with the owner for the following day after being told a gel pedicure was 50$. When I showed up, the owner recognized me and greeted me again asked if I wanted “spa pedicure”. I said yes because she clearly knew what I booked for and I assumed that’s what they called the gel pedicure. The woman doing the pedicure asked me about the “spa” again and admitted the price was 70$, I told her no and the owner got involved acting like it was odd that I didn’t want the 70$ pedicure after I booked for a 50$ one. While performing the pedicure, the lady asked me if I wanted my removed (I regularly take care of my feet and my calluses are very minimal) and also removed my gel polish from a previous pedicure. I was never offered any of the complimentary water they had on display in the fridge. She did an okay job but I left with paint on the skin and the heels of my feet were not as smooth as I’m used to after a fresh pedicure. At check out, I was told by the owner that the total was 60$, an extra $10 to remove my old gel polish and my calluses. Then because it was my first time there, she said she wasn’t going to charge me extra to use the card and proceeded to charge my card for 61.80$ in the next 10 seconds! I only used the card because I only had 60$ in cash and I wanted to tip. I asked her why and she said she forgot and proceeded to give me back 1 dollar and about 8 Pennies. Although, I should have tipped that dollar, I still tipped the 10$ I intended because the pedicure lady was very friendly, but I will never go back to this salon and I don’t recommend others do. Lost a potentially loyal client due to being greedy and price gauging. I will be checking out the salon next door instead for...
Read moreAfter extensive research for a reputable nail salon, I was led to believe Salon La Mode would be a perfect choice. My expectations, based on glowing reviews and professional recommendations, were high, making the reality of the situation even more disappointing.
From the moment I stepped into the salon, the service was lackluster, with staff members appearing disinterested and rushing through their tasks without the professionalism I anticipated. However, the real issue came to light after the completion of my nail service. The quality of the work was subpar: the polish was applied unevenly and very bumpy, the shaping was incorrect, and my nails ended up thin and weakened.
When I called to express my dissatisfaction and concern over the state of my nails, the salon invited me back under the pretense of rectifying the issue. Expecting a solution, I was instead subjected to a careless attempt at fixing their previous mistakes. I simply requested the removal of the polish and a clear coat instead, hoping to minimize further damage. Yet, the tool they used for polish removal only exacerbated the condition of my nails, leaving them more misshapen, bumpy, and still partially covered in polish. At that point, the frustration and disappointment were overwhelming, and I decided to leave to seek professional help elsewhere to repair the damage inflicted.
This experience has shown me that despite their seemingly reputable status, Salon La Mode lacks the necessary skill, customer service, and care for their clients' well-being. I strongly advise against visiting this salon. Save yourself the disappointment and potential harm to your nails by...
