We came in for our first anniversary as noted in our reservation notes. The only thing we expected was a "Happy Anniversary." Cocktails were solid. A tanqueray martini dirty bleu cheese olives was like $16. Salads were ok. Nothing real inventive on the menu. Wedge, caesar, and a summer salad. I got the pork loin. Sweet potatoes, hazelnuts, cherries, lemon ricotta, marsala cream. On paper it looked like it a nice balance. It did not translate. It was very one dimensional, fairly disappointing. The cherries were sparse, no flavors of marsala, and the pork loin severely lacked any seasoning. My wife got the strip steak. Temp requested was medium, came out medium well. We debated with each other so send it back. I feel like if you're going to charge almost $50 for a steak you gotta prepare it properly. This was also very underseasoned. I get you want to showcase the quality of your steak but salt and pepper are two of the most fundamental ingredients. Our server checked on us we explained the issue and we noted to her that we should do medium rare this time just to make sure. Well, the next one came out just like the first one. Medium well. Someone who I assume was a manager (she also sat us so I thought she was the hostess) told us it was a "perfect medium." I almost choked on my bland pork loin. Attached is a pic of a perfect medium (when it should have been medium rare this time anyways). They comped the steak which was nice. If this was the only issue I probably wouldn't have said anything. The whole time we were there we saw servers bringing out glasses filled with wine corks with a sparkler inside. So of course we thought we would be treated to something they think is special. We got dessert. Then we got the check. We inquired what the sparklers were for, and our server said it's for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. So the perfect medium lady didn't relay the information of our anniversary. it was a very abysmal memory for our first anniversary. We should have just stayed home in Pittsburgh and gone somehwere here. I think the menu is a little too ambitious for the people executing it. Our server, Leah, was about as perfect as she could be with the resources available to her. Also, we left our credit card behing. Didn't realize it until we got back to our room. We drove back and retrieved it. I was surprised they didn't call to let us know we left it. They have our number in our reservation info. It was a moment they could have used for some redemption but yet missed the mark, which was a common pattern.

We had an excellent meal by any and all standards. Solid 5 stars for food and service. The atmosphere decor is modern and upscale. But as many other reviewers noted, the noise level is high. I measured 100 Db, same as a motorcycle. But it was clear the Management had taken steps to deadening noise. Carpets, sound baffles on the ceiling, fabric wall covering. But it was still so loud that conversation was difficult and I couldn't make out what the server said. We had reservations and were immediately seated. It took a moment for the server to come but when she did she was friendly and professional. The menu was relatively small but contained a lot of detail. Prices were high, $35-45 for most entrees. We selected a variety of items, jambalaya, scallops, burgers. Having a Kids Menu was a nice touch. We had two young people 10 & 6with us and they were comfortable and welcomed. The touch screen devices to keep kids occupied were a great idea. The food came in short order and at first glance the portion seemed small. But the dishes were deep and the portion was very good. My jambalaya was excellent. Flavorful with lots of chicken, sausage and shrimp. The scallops got rave reviews. We didn't see much of the servers. No refills, bread or dinner rolls offered. One detail that I really liked was the heavy, substantial flatware. No hollow pressed junk. This was substantial which added gravitas to the meal. We really enjoyed the meal. And given the tab, that is a good thing. I would jump at the opportunity to go back to The Cork as long as I can convince someone else to pickup the tab.

While visiting Erie, I was looking for a place to get a really good meal and Google Contributions helped me find The Cork 1794 and I am so glad it did! I could tell from the reviews and the menu that I would enjoy this place and it did not disappoint, in fact, went above and beyond my expectations. Starting with the decor, I was really impressed with the eclectic variety as well as the incorporations of cork on bar stools and the wall as well as the floor. The bathroom really blew me away with its wallpaper and flower floor. The outdoor area was pretty fantastic, featuring fireplaces, TVs, a variety of shade and other details pleasing to the eye. We ate inside and they feature a variety of seating both indoors and out. Now to the highlight, which was our meal. I went with a variety of appetizers and a side while my SO got the Reddy chicken sandwich. Everything was delectable! Our appetizers were a cubed blackened New York strip with a cilantro hollandaise, pickled onions and jalapenos, Philly cheese steak egg rolls with an aged cheddar fondue, and my side was an au gratin potatoes with cheese and horseradish sauce and the crab bisque. While everything was amazing, the crab bisque was above and beyond, it was just an explosion of flavors! The staff was very friendly and professional and you could tell that this place operated like a well-oiled machine. They feature live music on the weekends and a beautiful player piano where you first walk in. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back another time!

Chemo AFTER PARRTTAYYYY....Today was my last chemotherapy treatment. After making a hard decision I decided on taking momma for taking care of me during this process to The Cork.

BEST DINING DECISION EVER

Preface...I like to think I have somewhat of a refined pallet whereas momma is pretty basic and kind of picky(no offense lady lol).

Per usual, I order for the table. Appetizers: King crab and truffle butter, firecracker shrimp, fried Brussels, crab cake appetizer and calamari. (Yes, it was only the two of us, don't judge)

As a Marylander born and raised I can assure the the crab (king and cakes) were super fresh and the crab cake had very very minimal filler. Better even than what I get in the DMV. The truffle butter was to die for. Firecracker shrimp was not spicy but full of flavor explosions. I didn't think momma was going to like it, but she loved it so theres a compliment in and of itself. Fried brussels were amazing and I have them from at least 20 other places. Calamari was light and flavorful. Different than what I'm used to. It was a nice suprise amd so yummy. The crab cake had an amazing homemade sauce on the side that I wish I would have asked for to take with me. It was light, fresh and very pleasing to the pallet. Everything was better than we could have imagined.

Entree: Momma had the T BONE and a crab cake....so tender and melt in your mouth. I had the Salmon on a bed of cauliflower and potatoes. We both had mashed potatoes as a side. The salmon was absolutely amazing. I sware, I am not affiliated or personally know anyone who works there. Everything and everyone was just so great

Makaila, our most amazing server, was excellent at recommendations, tending to us, creating a professional bond with us and making me feel special on my special day. The food and drinks came out in good timing and my drink was never empty. I would go back just for her!!

Even the hostess got wind of my special day and brought me a beautiful red rose in a vase to take home. And they didn't even have roses on the tables, so this was definitely thought out.

When my radiation is over I will be back to celebrate another milestone (in all honestly I'm sure I'll be back before then 😊).

I wish I knew how to share pictures here. 😕 THANK YOU TO THE CORK, MAKAILA, FRONT OF HOUSE, AND KITCHEN STAFF FOR A WONDERFUL LATE LUNCH/EARLY DINNER. YOU HAVE STAFF THAT YOU SHOULD BE SO VERY PROUD OF.

See you all again...

I hate giving them a 2.5 star review, but this is my 3rd visit with very slow service and food served ice cold. This is the 2nd overcooked steak too that was served cold :(. For spending hours there on expensive cold food and overdone steak I just can't give a 3 or 4 star no matter how nice the staff, drinks, shrimp cocktail, and atmosphere are. Our last visit we spent over 2 hours there the night of the Teddy Swims concert. We waited so incredibly long we couldn't wait longer to have my bland ice cold cognac wild mushrooms redone, the ice cold overcooked steak redone, or the ice cold mac'n'cheese redone. 2 other tables outside with us sent meals back 1 had a complaint (which the manager handled well with a comp) and the other said their food was ice cold and unacceptable so they sent it back. All together I've been 5 times. 2 were phenomenal and 3(especially the last time) were not on par. We may never go back even though they have my favorite shrimp cocktail in all of Pennsylvania. -Cocktails/bar 5 out of 5 stars. Bartenders and every drink are always spot on and fast. -Atmosphere inside and out 4 out of 5 stars -Cleanliness 5 out of 5 stars -Shrimp cocktail 5 out of 5 stars! Omg THE BEST! -Mac'n'cheese flavor is 5 out of 5 stars, but the last 2 times I got it it was ice cold. -Steak flavor has always been great 5 out of 5 stars, but it's been cold 2 times and overcooked 2 times. Cognac glazed wild mushrooms 2 out of 5 stars. They we served ice cold, very chewy, and bland. I had to flag down my waiter for salt and pepper. -Crab cake 3.5 out of 5 stars since it was ice cold, but had a good amount of crab meat. -Staff are always very friendly 5 out of 5 stars there, but getting food from the kitchen to our tables before it's cold has been an issues 3 times now. -Speed of service 2 out of 5 stars sadly. Last time our waiter didn't even bring our food or refills outside, a female bartender did. I've had her inside before and she was great inside! They were so swamped they had her running orders outside because they were sitting...
