In 1964 at Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York history was made. Chicken wings, deep-fried and smothered in a smooth yet bold vinegar-based peppery hot sauce were coined as Buffalo wings. Since 1964, the Buffalo wing has been copied,  reinvented, universalized, and most importantly, savored as a national treasure. However, among the many Buffalo wing breeds, a single restaurant nestled against the Rocky Mountains in southeast Salt Lake City has again made history. It is a privilege to share with you today, the best Buffalo wings discovered since their conception: the Wing Coop. Wing Coop’s award-winning chicken wings are fried to order, delivering an ever fresh and satisfyingly hot experience. These wings are available in over twenty mouth-watering sauces. Each power packed sauces boasts heavenly flavors ranging from classic Buffalo, to peanut curry, to raspberry chipotle. If you’re feeling adventurous, the “Eleven” sauce is a “mouth numbing, panic inducing, eye watering, mind blazing inferno.” Not only are Wing Coop’s chicken wings worthy of worship, anything that comes out of their friers is deserving of ritualistic appreciation and praise. Sides include fried pickles, fried green beans, onion rings, classic french fries, jalapeno wheels, and more. Each side is crispy, hot, and enough to drive away any belief in an imperfect world. The laidback and welcoming staff in addition to the comfortable environment make Wing Coop a hangout worthy of any friend group. Located nearby several canyon entrances, this is the perfect pitstop for any winter sport trip or summer campout adventure. When asked about my favorite restaurant, my go-to answer has always been “it depends on my mood.” Not now. My mood unfailingly longs for the restaurant that taught my tongue the meaning of love—Wing Coop. Bless yourself with the unforgettable experience of a godlike feast today at Wing Coop.

A wing joint with lots of refined flavors! Why go to a national wing restaurant when you can go to Wing Coop. As I entered the restaurant the employees immediately welcomed me and were excited to talk about their wings and flavors. They excitedly answered my questions and let me try flavors. But more importantly they seeked to find me the perfect sauce by suggesting more flavors. They even suggested mixing a few together and had me try them. Clearly they have pride in their craft. The restaurant has a fun interior and is VERY accessible from the freeway. The wings are on the small side. Some people enjoy large wings but I personally believe the smaller wings have better flavor and don't need tons of time in the fryer so the outside is nice and crispy with a juicy center. The Huge wings need more time cooking and the outsides are often overcooked. Also you have to question national wing restaurants that have massive wings... Chickens don't naturally get that big! If you are looking for one of Utah's premier wing locations you must try Wing Coop! They will be added to my list of favorite restaurant for wings!

A friend suggested we try this place for, in his words, “the best wings in town.” I gotta say, I’m not sure I agree. It was fine, don’t get me wrong. But I wouldn’t be so quick to call them the best in town. We ordered some Honey Habanero, Orange Jalapeño, Garlic Parmesan, and Peanut Curry wings. Our meals came with a side each, so we tried the fries and the Mac Bites. Best: Orange Jalapeño Great flavor. Perfectly spicy. All around, a solid wing. Worst: Honey Habanero I don’t know if they gave us the wrong wings, but it neither tasted of honey, nor habanero. I’d describe it as tasting like a spicy candle. I could be convinced to get the Peanut Curry wings again, they were good. Wouldn’t go for the Garlic Parmesan though. It just tasted like garlicky Buffalo sauce, and that’s not my vibe I guess. The sides were… fine I guess. The fries were nothing special, but they were decent. Hard to ruin fries. The Mac Bites were underwhelming in flavor and texture. Overall, it’s a fine wing joint, but the prices are a little steep, the soda selection is VERY slim, the sides are just “meh.”

Went here on my wife's birthday a couple days ago. It's the only place I could get her to go on her bday. And it was by far the worst experience we had there. There was hardly anyone there, so we decided to try it again. We had stopped going there because it's always packed and there's nowhere to sit usually. We ordered and sat down on the side away from the counter where you order. For some reason, a line formed near us even though they usually form on the other side. So we kept getting bumped or had people right up against us while we were trying to eat, which was annoying.

Other than that, our order of 12 wings and some fries took about 15 minutes to come out. It usually takes a while because they cook frozen chicken instead of fresh chicken. They should really fix that. When we got our order, the orange jalapeno sauce was more like a sweet and sour soup tasting sauce. We couldn't finish those wings, even though we tried dipping them in the garlic parmesan we had for the other 6 wings. The chicken itself was not well cooked. They pulled them out too soon so they could get the other 2 groups of people that came in started. The skin on the chicken was soft and not crisp, and the chicken itself smelled weird. Our fries were overcooked though. They were like styrofoam. We were very disappointed. Thanks for that, on my wife's birthday too. I won't be coming back.

2 years ago: Always worth coming here! Every sauce is to die for and you can buy it as well. They do sell it so you can make your own wings at home, you just have to ask at the counter. It does take some time to get your food but that is because they make it fresh to order. Once you try this place, you'll forget about the other wing restaurants. And they're a local company too! Plus, if you're gluten intolerant, the manager can tell you which sauces you can...

I’ve been a customer for 15+ years and last Saturday was so terrible that I willing eat here. This business is Dishonest and have stolen my money without providing any service. Do NOT eat here, terrible customer service and you will be lied to if something doesn’t go right. I’m sad that this is the reality, I’ve eaten here at least once a month for years and years. Last Saturday we made our order and waited for over an hour for the food to come to us. When it finally did, the guy that brought it said “I forgot about you, sorry”, your food has been ready for over 30 minutes. We were two of four customers at the time. I opened the wings and they were completely and visibly undercooked, not to mention cold at that point. They forgot our fries, forgot our onion rings, and didn’t include the sauces we paid for. At this point I stated I wanted a refund, I was told a “manager” needed to do it (mind blowing that they can TAKE my money just fine, but you can’t refund me? Insane!). I left and was told they “promised they’d take care of it”. On Tuesday my wife called, spoke to a manager and was assured that we’d be refunded. Today is Saturday, a week later, and I still have not received my $50+ dollars back in my account. This company lies, they will take your money and there is no customer service at this place. I’m sad to say this but, DO NOT eat here if you don’t want undercooked wings, terrible service, and they can’t refund you, thus they’ve stolen my money. Dishonest business and employees that don’t care about their customers. I will never eat at this establishment again. I want my MONEY BACK for the services I DID NOT receive. This has been a drain of my time and is absolutely ridiculous that my money is not refunded at this point. The employees and owners will lie and take your money if provided the...
