I can't vouch for the pastries, but I'm assuming they're good; prices are reasonable and there's a broad selection. Mostly just writing a review for people with dietary allergies to know that Google lists this place as a cafe, but you can't get nondairy espresso beverages here, despite what might seem like a reasonable assumption. The machine they have pre-makes everything, like one of those gas station machines, not a real espresso machine, so it's coffee (with almond milk, if you want) or no dice. There is no decaf espresso, either. I know, some of you are inevitably wondering why, why would anyone do anything so unholy to espresso. It's possibly because they were coffee addicts before their bodies rebelled against them and now decaf espresso is the only form of caffeine their bodies will apparently tolerate in moderation without attempting to ruin their lives with gut-wrenching pain. Try not to hold it against them. We aren't all communists. So while anyone else in a similar boat may benefit from this knowledge when looking for a local early morning cafe option (vs McD's or DD, neither of which I'm personally down with, though DD's isn't, like, the devil incarnate...) didn't want to neg this cute li'l place down either, because for what it's doing, it seems to be doing a great job. People were reasonably friendly and if donuts were in my medically allowable wheelhouse, I'd be here gorging myself diabetic, most likely. š the more fun...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas a loyal customer. Come in almost weekly to get my daughter a breakfast sandwich as she has practice from 3-6. Today we went in at 2:30, waited behind an older gentleman and then went to place our order at 2:34. The woman behind the counter said she doesn't make breakfast sandwiches after 2:30. Even though we arrived at 2:30. I advised her that we had been in the same time the last few weeks on different days, a couple times at 2:45 and we were always served. She stated, "We have a bunch of new people that don't know what they're doing." I politely told her my daughter had practice and this is how I've been feeding her on those days. I asked if it was worth losing a customer. She stated,"I have been working here a long time and don't do sandwiches after 2:30." I advised her that they lost a customer. If you are the owner, please watch the tape for 11/18 to see what time we came in. I write for multiple online foodie sites and have never been treated this way. At Country Kitchen the customer is wrong and the worker is lazy. I don't recommend going to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf coffee and breakfast is something you treat yourself to on occasion, this is the place to go. The quality of food and coffee from here is excellent. Chain places like Dunkin and Starbucks may save you those extra 5 minutes or 5 cents on occasion, or even take just as long and cost the same, but it will not make you smile like the food and coffee from this place.
There's a good selection of donuts, muffins, bagels, pastries, etc and also a good amount of coffee customization options. I have yet to try their breakfast sandwiches but they look excellent as well. I have enjoyed everything I've tried so far.
If you're concerned about cost, everything is priced very well and nearly in line with the likes of Dunkin and typically cheaper than Starbucks in most aspects. Ordering is quick from my experiences here.
Disclaimer: I haven't tried every food item yet but I am certainly working on it.
If I could leave one suggestion here. I think some more pictures of the menus or even a complete PDF menu of year round items would be a good addition to the website or...
