When we arrived it was horribly loud and cold, I actually did not want to stay. The cheese fries came out and the were smothered in fake liquid cheese & the fries were not crispy. I must say the Onion Rings were spectacular and the pizza was much better than I expected. Our server was wonderful just sweet as can be. If it were more of a comfortable environment I would rate it higher. It was in the bar section, not the restaurant due to the time, keep that in mind. I’m sure a different part of the restaurant would change the experience.

I think Grotto's produces one of the most underrated pies around. The thin Tuscan meat pizza was very flavorful and I enjoyed what tasted like ricotta mixed with the mozzarella. The mozzarella sticks on the other hand tasted like they were microwaved and definitely need to be nixed or rethought. I enjoyed the local craft beer offerings, including local brewer Mispillion. It's very important that local establishments serving beer work with local breweries that make beer so that hard work goes back into the community's coffers.

Grotts is a staple for tourists. Locals go for the atmosphere and pretty much anything but their pizza. I ordered something off the menu that was no longer available because it was seasonal and they didn't restock a couple weeks before the seasonal switch over. Instead I ordered the cheese steak calzone with mushrooms. My kids ordered chicken tenders and a personal pizza and cheese fries. It is standard pub type food and edible.

I honestly give it a 3 out of 10. If you want a real pizza place ignore this one. Food was, to me, lacking panache and very cookie cutter cardboard box. I ordered bacon and pepperoni and could barely taste the sparse pepperoni let alone the bacon. (Before you say COVID I'm negative after a test that morning)

The staffing was even worse as they'd rather be socializing with their friends than doing their job. No seriously! Had my waitress ask if I'd like a refill on my water, yes I responded, she informed me that she was going to go get it... And behind me she sits down to talk to a group of friends for eight minutes... And still forgets the water (never did get it). I eventually had to get up and get my own to go container and have another employee get my check.

I sat in the bar area. I wasn't given an option. But if you like to be bombarded with sports TV you'll enjoy it... If you're like me and just want to eat a meal in peace DO say something quickly or it'll fall on deaf ears when you request it later.

Final recommendation... It's edible but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless it's the last thing in the area open. Avoid...

Grotto's a single-handedly the best argument for the popular vote being a bad idea. Nobody I have ever met says anything good about grottos, lived here my whole life, seeing the world with the military and know what good pizza is. He had somehow this place is still open and flourishing, I don't understand it I never will no local does. How does pizza this bad sell for this long? How does a business this poorly run managed to buy all of the real estate and open up new locations seemingly month after month? There is almost a cover up to be had here. I almost don't like people if I find out that they like grottos, there's just something wrong with anybody who has standards that low. That being said the grande is not horrible even if it's not something that they publicly advertise. I wish for the betterment of my state that this entire franchise would close down and move out, but I know that won't happen just like tourists and the trash from out of state this is just one more thing that makes me realize this is no...

The chopped antipasto salad with the creamy pepper Parmesan salad dressing was good as usual, and the "Philly" Cheesesteak was okay at best. There's nothing to really brag about. We were seated and brought our drinks in a timely manner. Things got a little rough and neglectful after that. It felt like we waited for a while for our food. My wife got her cheesesteak, literally 5 whole minutes before I got my salad, and someone other than our waitress brought the meals out...it wasn't that busy. A couple of people at the bar and four other tables. I don't understand it. Our waitress forgot to bring to check, so after we got tired of waiting, we walked to the front to try to pay, and they wouldn't take my money. Instead, someone else had to track down our waitress so she could go ahead and ring up up. It was very frustrating and awkward. Hopefully, maybe next time,...
