A friend of mine had a frightening and unacceptable encounter at Jo Cats. As he was exiting the restrooms on the second floor, a staff member violently grabbed him and attempted to push him down the flight of stairs. He was only able to avoid serious injury by catching himself in time. Immediately after, another bouncer grabbed him by the neck and tried to strangle him. This was completely unprovoked, he was simply trying to rejoin our group of friends. The bar was crowded, but that in no way excuses the staff’s aggressive, dangerous, and unprofessional behavior. Thankfully, my friend was able to escape and exit the bar before it escalated further. This was unprompted, unsafe, and despicable conduct from employees entrusted with patron safety. I was at Jo Cat’s the other night and my experience was completely tarnished by another customer who brought in a real LIVE cat. I was with a friend who is deathly allergic to cats so we had to make a quick exit. After notifying staff of this issue, nothing was done to remove that customer from my knowledge. This issue needs to be taken seriously because not only is it cruel for the cat, but it is also putting other people in danger! As a business, I definitely hope you are doing everything you can to make sure your customers are not put into harm’s way, including allergic reactions! First time there ever. Overall good atmosphere. Only giving 3 stars due to a rude bartendress. Overheard that she taught at my old high school. Innocently tried to make that connection. Not sure if she heard exactly what I was asking due to the noise, but she initially ignored me. Walked away, she waved her hand in dismissal and said " I'm not talking with you", as she incorrectly assumed that I was hitting on her. I was with other people, and was not acting rude or strange.
