I wasn't expecting a lot when I was invited to dinner inside of a casino, but I was so impressed with everything at RuYi! First of all, parking was very easy, thanks to the immense parking garage attached to Potawatomi. When you get to the second level skywalk, it's east to find the restaurants. Despite the flashings, whirs, and music, of the room full of slot machines, as soon as you enter RuYi, you feel like you're at a Japanese restaurant anywhere else. The red walls make the space feel cozy while the tables are spread out enough that you aren't bothered by any other groups. We tried a good variety of the food. The $1 sashimi (deal only available on Wednesdays) was really great as appetizers or to share. The Japchae with shrimp (Glass noodles, egg, shiitake mushroom, carrot, bok choy, bell peppers, sesame seeds) was incredible! Without shrimp, it was vegetarian/dairy free/gluten free. And I had leftovers that were still amazing the next day. The seaweed salad was one of the freshest I've had. And the drinks were fun to try, since most were made with very good sake. Highly recommend if you want to try a new place or just to see what Potawatomi has to offer.

I've never eaten at a restaurant inside a Casino before but RuYi surely did not disappoint for my first time! Depending on how busy the casino is, there is usually a line with a wait time but we did not have to wait long since it was a Tuesday evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern yet traditional and our waitress was very kind and attentive. I ordered the cashew stir fry which is a perfect option for vegetarians. It was extremely flavorful and hearty. My grandma ordered the sweet and sour chicken which was delicious. My mother ordered the kung pow chicken which was also great but on the spicier side. Our food came out fast and there are many options on the menu. I have had the shrimp fried rice before and definitely recommend that to anyone who is picky or not sure of what to order. I haven't been to any of the other restaurants in Potawatomi but i would highly recommend this one to anyone coming here to play! I would eat here again and definitely also recommend the locally sourced beer they have on the menu.

I've been losing my wages at Poto for many years now and I have never eaten here. This was my first time and I have to say that I will definitely be back. BBQ pork buns and crab rangoon were EXCELLENT. I don't know about anyone else but glowing red sweet and sour sauce is the best. Also had sweet and sour chicken. Ate WAAAAY too much. The host that was taking care of seating as well as our server and the gentleman that was in charge of getting the dinners out were all very hospitable. We didn't mind the wait at all. That being said, when you have the little "place in line" thing, and you happen to have it in your back pocket, don't forget it's there. That thing went off and I almost fell off the seat at the slot I was at! Will Be Back!

I normally tell everyone, that this is my favorite Asian Restaurant. I love the food. But I have had several bad service experiences.

Most recently: On 12/24 at 8:50PM, I tried to place an order with Ruyi, using my comp $10 coupon. Something happened and it didn't show up on the order board. I spoke to the associate Ken to see if he could ring it up at the register. He took me to the order board, tried to order again. The coupon didn't show up. I showed on the app that the coupon was on there, and he walked off. I assumed he was going to get help, I waited 10 minutess and asked someone else if I could speak to a supervisor, as I hadn't seen Ken. She tried to help me as well and then got the manager. The manager, instead of just saying sorry, I'll address it, he instead defended Ken for leaving me stand there. I then walked through, for the 3rd time, I couldn't use the coupon. He told me I needed to go to guest services to make sure its active. I explained it was on the app, but it wasnt letting me apply it. He called guest services to have it fixed. Then came back, said i should be good, and had a busy waitress take my order instead of taking 5 extra minutes to just finish helping me, since I had been waiting for 30 minutes already just to place an order. So after another 5 minutes, the waitress was able to take my order, and was very friendly and more apologetic than anyone else I spoke to. Another 15 minutes, I finally got my food, which the manager couldn't be bothered to bring and make sure I was satisfied. No extra anything for the inconvenience. No final apology. Nothing. And the kicker, I get to my room, get ready to est, and they didn't even put to go cutlery in my bag. What a joke. I used to look forward to any trip to Milwaukee to stop here for food. But, the service has just been taking a big step back, that it's not worth taking the extra time to...

My wife and another couple visited RuYi to celebrate Valentine's Day on 2/15/25. We chose RuYi because they had a special Lunar New Year menu, and because I was born in 1965, my Chinese zodiac sign is the Snake, and since this year is also the Year of the Snake, it marks my ben ming nian (本命年) my zodiac year of birth.

The food was good, though their special Lunar New Year menu was not so special. What I thought was going to be special a multi-course meal for one price turned out to be ala carte items priced separately, and the items didn't seem all that special or different from the regular menu.

The biggest disappointment was the service. Our server was a nice young man, but really timid and seemingly working his first shift at the restaurant. He was far from engaging, and often seemed confused when we'd ask about particular items on the menu. Even when we asked him to split the check in half at the end of our meal, he seemed baffled by the request.

Service was extremely slow for a busy Saturday night in the casino. Even ordering water for everyone at the table came with a significant wait. Order drinks, we'd wait 15 minutes. Entrees and appetizers also came with significant waits. It was very strange, as the didn't seem understaffed for the evening.

Overall, the food was good. Not great. But good. But the lackluster service certainly made the experiencing feel pondering. RuYi really need to up their service game to be on par with a Las Vegas casino...

Fried rice with chicken.....chicken tasted like dried out cardboard at a whopping $13.00!! Crispy breaded sweet and sour shrimp with white rice. The shrimp actually still had some shells on the tail of the shrimp, nice and crunchy where you don't want the crunch! Breading on the shrimp was soggy, Not crispy! Very few shrimp. The little packets of so called Soy Sauce for the chicken fried rice, does Not even taste like good soy sauce! Used my Kikkoman (real) soy sauce that I had leftover in my fridge. Now thats soy sauce! Went to this place several times, but this time was the worst! And the guy at the register talks so damn fast, I had to keep asking him....What? What? Bye Bye Ruyi! Oh and I used my Comp to get these meals. Otherwise these meals were worth at Most $5.00 each out of pocket for this 2nd grade so called food! Oh and don't ask about the EggRolls....YUCK!

UPDATE: Went back last week to give them another chance. Ordered Beef fried rice and Orange chicken fried rice. Ate the Beef fried rice had massive Diarrhea 2 hours later for several hours!! Threw out the Chicken fried rice, didn't want another episode or take another chance. Possible food poisoning I suspect! Beware of...
