This is great little place with a casual atmosphere, rustic decor, entry into the bar with the dining area in back. Very cozy feeling. Lighting that you can actually SEE the menu, but not so bright that it causes discomfort. The booths are painfully small. We had five in our group and had to use two booths in a private cubby. One had three and one had two. The table with three people barely had enough room for their food. Not that this is a problem, but they are more suited for a couple. Our fault though for not making reservations. I would always think of it at like 10 or 11 and call, then remember they don't open until noon - and by then I would forget. So I definitely recommend making reservations, and if you have anyone with a little weight on them, or well endowed, specify a table, not a booth. The booth tables are anchored to the wall so you can't put a small person one side and a larger person on the other and adjust the placement of the table to make both people comfortable. We dealt with it. We now know for the future.
Our server was fantastic. She took great care of us. Even though we forgot to ask for separate checks at the start, and I told her not to worry about it as it was our fault, she did it anyway. She was so friendly, cheerful, and genuine. She was there when we needed her, and scarce when we were just eating and talking. She is a dream server.
The food. I had mozzarella sticks to start and my table mate had the garlic bites. There are SO many bites I think she only ate a quarter of them so she had room for her calzone. The mozzarella sticks are breaded and very cheesy with a tasty marinara - and you get EIGHT. Two people ordered pizzas and three of us ordered calzones. The calzones start with cheese and then you add your choice of up to three pizza toppings for just $11. Each additional topping is only $1. I did sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and black olive. They hands down have the best calzone I have ever had in my life. The crust is SO thin you get the flavor of it without overpowering the stuffing. And they are stuffed. The herbs and spices along with the garlic oil and perfect amount of cheesiness is so delicious it cannot be described. The flavor combination was so perfect that I didn't dip it in the sauce because I felt that would actually ruin the taste of the overall calzone. I took 1/2 the mozz sticks and more than 1/2 the calzone home. I can't wait to get home and have leftovers!
I cannot even imagine trying a calzone anywhere else now as I feel it would be a major disappointment. I can see stopping after work and taking one to go once a month. Yea. I believe it's THAT good.
The menu is much larger than the one photo on Google. I should have taken pics of each side but I was focused...

My first and only experience with Tanino's. I ordered an extra large, hand tossed pizza with sausage and pepperoni on a Friday night. Like many pizza joints on such a night I was placed on hold initially, not a big deal. The order was supposed to be ready for pick-up in 25 minutes, which was actually 30-35 minutes, so not too bad on the estimate.
The parking lot is fairly small and so too is the building, at least from the outside. Note there are two separate entrance doors. The door on the left leads to the kitchen pick-up window, whereas the door on the right leads into the bar and the restaurant. Neither door was manned by a host(ess), so keep an eye out for where you need to go.
The pizza... it was good, but only average. Tanino's is about a 40 minute round-trip drive for me, and I simply won't repeat the venture for only average pizza, however I'd consider another visit if in the area. My first concern upon opening the box at home was did they screw up the order as the crust appeared to be thin. They make thin, hand tossed and thick per their menu, and I ordered hand tossed. Regardless of the crust type, the main/middle section was quite thin and flimsy and simply folded under/over as you picked it up and held it, but it was definitely not under baked, just flimsy. The sauce was fairly bland with a few small chunks of tomato and applied sparingly. Further, the cheese, sausage and pepperoni were also sparingly applied and the primary flavor coming through was from the pepperoni, and it was a saltiness. On the plus side the pizza was only slightly greasy and unlike some was not dominated by an overwhelming saltiness found in some sauces...
Read moreI found this place through a flyer for delivery and was happy with the prices and portion on the delivery menu but , I was even more happy to find that they Do not charge a delivery fee. The raviolis were huge and tasted great and the Calzones were excellent. Well as chance wold have it the following day, Today, we were asked to go to get pizza with the extended family so we suggested we try going for a sit down meal and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a little place with a couple of cool quirks. First off, the eight or so seat bar up front was nice and the dining area was basic shabby chic and a bit dim but, we will call that ambience. Places like this are made by the food not the lighting, so we (party of 7- 5 adults and 2 toddlers) ordered a couple of pizzas, pasta with meat sauce, salad, calamari and drinks. It was wonderful! The crust on the pizzas was what made it so good to me, then the sauce. The portions were just right and the food came out quickly. Side note ==== Italian dressing there was divine!!! Let me tell you this restaurant owners....always have chocolate milk at a restaurant because kids love it and you go right on the list of places that are kid friendly and now are in rotation for about 5 years minimum. Had a great time and the service...
