On the recommendation of a friend, my wife and I tried Bull’s Horn. It was brunch time but they also served two burgers, so my wife got one and I got the other. These were without a doubt the soggiest burger buns ever achieved. You couldn’t have throw the burger in water and then microwaved it to get such an effect. My friend believes that the soggy bun might’ve been due to buildup on the griddle, which can then soak into the food (i.e., not good cleaning habits). I don’t know what the cause was, but not only was the bun soggy, it had a strange smell, like some sort of unpleasant aroma/soap?
Yes, I should have brought it to their attention, but I had stupidly consumed about half the burger and kind of felt sick (I am probably not the only person in the world who doesn’t want to ‘make a scene’). I just wanted to pay and get out, I did not want to have to vocalize how gross the burger was, because it would’ve meant describing it or prolonging my visit. So let me just say that I didn’t give them a chance to correct it, and so that’s on me.
But I’ve never had a worse burger. At least it wasn’t underdone. EDIT: I forgot to mention - even the chips (regular Lays? Or offbrand) tasted funny. I couldn’t explain it, but even they were gross.
My wife’s burger was just as soggy, but she did not complain to me about the smell. She also only ate about half and boxed it up (she said it was a big burger and that’s why she didn’t finish it). She is not sure whether she’ll consume the rest. We boxed both of them up... mine went immediately into the trash at home.
But hey, my daughter liked her eggs and bacon, so...
Read moreI wasn't quite sure what to expect as we don't usually frequent restaurants like Bull's Horn but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food!
We got a 5 piece chicken basket as recommended by the reviews. Did not disappoint! The breading was perfectly crunchy and the chicken was tender throughout. Bursting with flavor. Probably the best fried chicken I've had! The dill pickle really adds a unique taste to this chicken.
We also got the Bulls Horn burger which was just as delicious - my husband devoured it ! Meat had a lot of flavor. We decided to add their house made American Cheese. Pretty cool that they make it in-house !
The mac and cheese I thought was okay. I don't know if it just got cold on the way home or what but I didn't think it tasted any different from typical mac and cheese.
We also tried the fry basket with special sauce (mayo and ketchup blend) which was phenomenal. The fries kinda take like McDonald's fries. They are delicious!
Lastly, the cheese curds. Oh my gosh. These rival the State Fair cheese curds, and I don't say that about many restaurants. The cheese flavor was perfect and I'm not sure what's in the breading but it's the best. It almost has a dill-pickle flavor similar to the chicken basket but not quite. Can't...
Read moreA new favorite spot! We met a friend here for the first time a month ago and haven’t been able to stay away! The atmosphere is definitely an old school diner/dive bar, but in the best possible way. Walking in is a total nostalgia bomb for the quant small town restaurants/bars I grew up with. Despite looking like a restaurant that has been untouched since the 70s or 80s, it is spotless and super cozy.
The staff and service is on point. Super friendly and very attentive. Very laid back, unpretentious vibes make this place a great spot to hangout.
The food is exceptional. The Bull’s Horn channels their inner greasy spoon/dive bar and marries it with the skill of a seasoned, fine dining chef. Their recent award of the best burger in town is well deserved. The homemade American cheese adds incredible gooeyness to a perfectly crafted diner burger. It feels like the perfect reimagining of a nostalgic fast food burger in the best possible way. Their wings are spot on. Their cheese curds shouldn’t be missed. Pictured is the new double burger in the menu. It’s a heckin’ chonker and completely delicious.
Amazing spot! We will have this place on heavy...
