Edit; the owner ended up calling and refunded our entire group order not even just the one sandwich- he said they have been extremely short staffed, and have had problems like this with that manager in the past. He was very sorry and wanted to make things right- that is all a person should ask for! Thank you!
Wow is all I have to say. I have never taken the time to write a review on a restaurant, but this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. We ordered a group order to the hospital for lunch Friday April 1st. I was almost done eating the entire sandwich when I noticed a fly embedded into my lettuce. I called and was very nice, simply just asked to be refunded. The guy that answered the phone said he would take care of the refund after the lunch rush. Tuesday came and there was still no refund, I then called again and asked why it hadn't been refunded. He said he was not sure and that he would have the manager call me later in the day. No one ever called. I called again today on Thursday and spoke with the manager Damien who accused me of placing the fly in the sandwich to get a free sandwich??? That they don’t know that the fly came from there? It could have flown in my sandwich here? When it is clearly embedded in the lettuce. Then said that he could get me another sandwich, but a refund would be hard because it had been so long now. I then said well I have called two other times, so I don't really know what to tell you. I am not interested in another sandwich after what I have just experienced and am totally shocked at the horrible customer service and attitude that manager just had toward me. Absolutely foul. Being a department in the hospital that orders group orders often we will sadly never place an...
Read more1st time ordering Caffrey's (on rave recommendations from a good friend - who granted hasn't been in some time) - and most likely the last. I used GrubHub to order my sandwich. It's pickup only; not a problem. It's a 15 min walk from my apt. Place my order, says will be ready in 15 mins. Perfect. I take five mins to get ready, and then head out - giving them 20 mins to make a sandwich and package up a pickle. Plenty of time!
I arrive 20 mins after I placed my order and see 4 the employees standing around. "Okay, cool", I think; "my order is ready and waiting". I announce I'm here to pickup my order; they look at each other and then go, "Uhhhh, you ordered through DoorDash?" - "Nope, GrubHub". The employees look in their system, and they half-whisper, "yep, there's the order". Employee tells me, "It'll be just a few minutes."
So, what that tells me is the employees hadn't even bothered checking the system for orders in 20 mins. And as this was 9:05pm, had I showed up later or waited for GrubHub saying my food was actually ready - instead of walking over while it should have been in the process of being made - who knows if I would've even gotten my meal.
About 5 mins later, I receive my sandwich. Employee: "Here you go". No "sorry about your order not being ready", not a free dessert, no discount on the food. The absolute minimum they could've, and should've, done is apologize for their mistake. But apparently that would've been too much effort on their part.
The sandwich was decent, the pickle okay. But after the complete lack of care and consideration by the employees, I don't think I'll...
Read moreCaveat empetor! It seems that every time I order I get a different cost for how much my sandwich and dessert will be. When cross-checked with the menu or in-store orders, it will occasionally be as much as $5-7 more than it ought to be. I'm not saying for sure that it is deliberate, but it has happened often enough and to enough of my friends that you should make sure you are checking the online menu for how much things cost and speak up if it doesn't seem right -- especially if you are paying with cash. Otherwise, I used to love the food here but lately the quality has been wildly inconsistent. It can go from being a solid sandwich to a soggy, bland, nigh-inedible trainwreck. The delivery is very consistent however, and is open super late. So it has that going for it. All in all, with the shadiness of the pricing and frequent no-effort sandwich, I would say perhaps go for a different sub shop unless there is nothing else open. For background, I'd ordered here about once a week or every two weeks for roughly a year before the quality started slipping enough for me turn to other options. It used to be my delivery of choice, but with all of the issues I've had I am finally resolved not to give them any more of...
