CHANNA KITCHEN thank you for a spectacular introduction to Trinidadian cuisine. Kudos to the owners ( Chef Anisa and her husband) for turning their culinary endeavor into an outstanding landmark in the diverse cuisine scenario in Minneapolis.

On Saturday night we enjoyed the yummy curries (curry chicken, stewed chicken, curry shrimp), luscious rotis, daal, mouthwatering doubles and pholouries. Each dish was very flavorful, portion sizes were great and I would definitely recommend getting double portions of DOUBLES for each diner! The accompanying sauces/ chutneys ( mango, tamarind, pepper, cilantro) added to the PARTY IN OUR MOUTHS!

The delicious food was complimented by exemplary customer service. Chef Anisa called us to apologize for the delay in our pick up time. After failing to locate the exact location (despite our navigation system), we called Chef Anisa. She guided us to the location and came out to greet us. She gave us two complimentary dishes ( macaroni pie and channa dip) to make up for extra time. It was a pleasure interacting with her as she passionately spoke about Trinidad cuisine and the future of CHANA KITCHEN. The customized label with the client’s name (attached to the cutlery) was lovely too.

My husband definitely scored extra brownie points for finding this culinary gem. We will definitely order again despite the long drive. My family hopes that CHANA KITCHEN graduates from a take out place into a into a full fledged seating restaurant soon! Thanks you Chef Anisa for your amazing food and great...

We spent all year looking high and low for the perfect beef patty to serve at our wedding. We had just about given up when we saw it as a menu item in a stall at our local farmers market. After scarfing one down, we had to go back immediately for another, where we struck up a conversation that started it all!

Channa Kitchen catered our 35-person outdoor wedding reception lunch. We had dreamed of exposing our guests to dishes from the Caribbean side of the groom's country, and Anisa's knowledge of Trinidadian cooking combined with her willingness to dream with us made for a tasty, meaningful, and expertly executed menu. Anisa was friendly, easy to work with, and willing to work inside of our budget. She was a great communicator, and we could tell she cared about our experience. She took care of setup, which was thoughtful and beautiful, and took care of our guests, taking time to answer their questions. She even plated up some dinner for us, making sure we wouldn't have to think about what to eat that night. We're happy we were able to support a small, local business and we look forward to working with Channa Kitchen again...

One day I decided to check out google maps and see if there was any Trinidad restaurants out there besides Harry Singh. (I never know when Harry is open anymore). Found this hidden gem, read all the reviews (by the way, it’s all 5 stars). Checked out the website and I was impressed with what channa kitchen had on their menu. The polourie, aloo pies, good luck finding those dishes anywhere else in Minneapolis. Today (Sunday 18th August 2024), finally placed an order for stew chicken, curry chicken, bake n shrimp (which was the special of the weekend), polourie and aloo pies. I’m currently in a food coma as I type out this review for Anisa’s channa kitchen. Not only is the food super authentic, the owner Anisa is very polite, nice, just a bundle of joy. As a fellow Trinidadian being able to talk my natural dialect with another Trini was such a joy. She really is awesome, and well the food, just GREAT! AUTHENTIC!! Eating Anisa food took me back to Trinidad in so many ways. Get yourself some of Anisa’s Trini cuisine, you’ll NOT be disappointed.

I wanted to highlight our Indian-based culture and cuisine from the Caribbean at this year’s (early!) Diwali celebration. The “make your own doubles” selection was perfect: a truly Trini taste and tradition that gives homage to Mother India. In fact, ALL of us love it, despite ancestral heritage. The food itself was fantastic! Made me recall doubles along Maracas Beach or on the road during Carnival. The real thing/ da real ting! But let me talk about the wonderful service: I’m in a wheelchair and have trouble getting transport. Channa Kitchen allowed me to order on-line (they were VERY, VERY patient and helpful), pay electronically and then I sent Uber to collect the food. Thank you, Anisa and team, for your amazing service. Check out Channa Kitchen. You will be quite pleased

My gyal was in town and we were craving for doubles. We decided to stop by here to try their version. The place is actually a little brick house for takeout. Anisa answered the door, introduced herself, and offered to bring it out once it was finished. The doubles were packed as singles in its own container with a red hot pepper sauce cup. It was very flavourful with fresh chopped green veggies. A nice little snack to have before we went to a meditation class. Will have to come back another time to try other things on the menu!
