Cali Nails — Local services in Minneapolis

I visited this establishment on a saturday hoping it would be a quick in/out full set, when I arrived there was already a couple of people ahead of me but it didn't seem like too many so I waited... wrong idea. Worst service I've ever had at a beauty salon!!!! Literally there was at one point only one tech on the floor working on everybody coming in. She is the one who told me wait time was only 20 mins when it turned out to be much longer. She skipped me in line more then once to attend to customers who came in after me. When she was finally ready to do my nails she couldn't decide which station she wanted to work at and i had to continually move around the shop with my things. I feel like the lady was very bigoted and ignorant towards me. she stopped in the middle of doing my nails to demand that i pay right then and there before she finished, granted i had my wallent sitting right next to my elbow in full view. She didn't do this to any one else. Matter of fact there was another young lady who's card had declined. The shop lady allowed this woman to leave on good faith to go get money from wherever. I know she tested me like this because I am a women of color. She then sent me to be finished by another worker who didn't even consult me on how i wanted my nails to be. just started hacking away at them only for me to stop her before she ruined then beyond repair.

I asked for a full set of gel nails with gel polish, stilletto shaped. I got gel nails with regular polish and a half-rounded tip. The shop doesn't even have a UV lamp to dry your nails just a little baby fan at the station that didn't even do the job.

It was a last minute decision to stop into this salon and it's a mistake i will never Make again NOT WORTH THE $30 BUCKS I PAID OR THE TIME I WASTED.

I went to get a manicure/pedicure, my regular lady was gone. The co owner, I believe was the pregnant lady was probably not having her best day. She was rude to customers and very short with her comments. While getting my nails and feet done, I noticed the manicurist was short cutting the procedure. She actually poured some kind of solution into the nail polish bottle to extend the use thereby thinning the polish out. By the time I got home and got ready for work my nails were peeling. I called the shop and spoke with the pregnant lady and she said you don't have to come back if you don't like the service. I told her not to worry. Not wasting my hard earned money on Poor service. Like they say... You get what you pay for. The service is not the best. I would NOT recommend this shop. Try the shop on Lyndale and 64th. Better customer service, much cleaner environment and no watered down products.. Just my opinion. I would rate this a minus zero in all area. Somehow my rating remains not showing my true feelings.. POOR...

This is hands-down the best nail salon in Minneapolis. Not only do you get exceptional woc-owned and run service at a very reasonable price, you get to form a relationship with the most kind and personable nail techs I have ever encountered. I came into this salon super anxious, suffering from chronic cuticle biting, and now I have stopped this habit nearly completely thanks to CaliNails. I would give them 6 stars if I could. I feel like Nonnii and Tweety are truly my friends now. They are so non-judgmental and caring, it's unbelievable that they are just my nail techs sometimes. Also, I can't tell you how many times they've fixed my nails for free, fit me into their schedule, and have just gone above and beyond to care for me and my nails.
