Dervish Mazza — Restaurant in Minneapolis

Mo prepared an amazing private event, six course meal for my wife and her friend's 40th birthday celebration in the comfort of our own home. Not only that, Mo drove two hours (each way) to make this event a memorable birthday celebration for a party of eight of my wife's closest friends (no husbands allowed). We began preparing six weeks in advanced with a conversation about menu, food preferences, food sensitivities, and logistics of this surprise party. This process was seamless, and Mo came up with a menu that was accommodating for all preferences. He sourced all of the food, and prepared much of the meal in our home. As host of this event, his communication was excellent.

The food was amazing with drink pairings for each course. Mo is a warm personality with the highest quality of hospitality at the forefront of his mind. This was not simply a dinner, but a true experience. He is a very talented cook, with flavors we have never experienced. He even gave us a sample of spices to keep for use in our own cooking.

If you have never done a private, in home event, Dervish Mazza is the place to call (and I interviewed five different cooks for this event). You can be sure that we will return the favor of us driving two hours to visit Mo's restaurant in the near future. Oh yes, how do I know the food was so good if husbands were not involved???....There were leftovers for us to try and have for dinner...

My wife and I took some close foodie friends for dinner at DervishMazza! This was one of the most memorable nights in a long time. The food was stunning. We had a six course meal pared wonderfully with homemade cocktails and wine. Each beverage selected to complement the food. Each dish was very different and was so tasty I feel like I wanted to just keep eating. Everything we were served was made from scratch, and you could tell because the flavors were so rich and so full. Also part of the experience was we were invited into Mo’s house as his guests. Mo was fantastic. He worked with me to throw a private celebration for my wife and our friends. We had 16 people that fit perfectly in his backyard. His communication was strong leading up to the event, and presence was exactly as I would have hoped during the event. There were timely courses, pleasant and educating style, interjecting periodically, also leaving us to interact in between.

We hadn't done a private event in a backyard like this before, so felt a little odd driving to this location and approaching the home.
