It's a bummer that I've resorted to giving a poor review, but I didn't hear back after sharing my experience with them first.
I called on Nov. 20th and spoke to a woman who was taking my order (4 items total). I was confused because she was calling one of the items I ordered a "melt" when I didn't see that title in the item online. I also had a request for light mayo and no pickles. Afterwards, I asked for the order to be repeated back to me. After some back and forth, and because I was misunderstanding the names of the sandwiches, the woman on the phone got upset with me, put the phone down and started yelling "I can't! I can't! I can't handle when they want the order repeated, you take this!" So someone else got on the phone, asked my order and I calmly responded, "I just want to make sure that the turkey melt doesn't have pickles and has light mayo" and we ended the call.
At this point, I crossed my fingers hoping the order was correct. I went to pick up my order, and asked the women helping me, "Were you the one I spoke to on the phone?" She said yes, so I explained how I overheard her complaints to the co-worker and how disrespectful it was. She apologized and said it wasn't directed to me, and I shouldn't take it personally.
I was thinking this was probably the last time we (my husband and I) order from Sammy's; which I'm super bummed about because we LOVE their sandwiches. But if the service keeps up this way, they have likely lost my husband and me as customers.
But that's not the end. After opening our order we realized one of the sandwiches was not what I ordered. This is why I like to repeat my order and make sure it's correct. On top of that, I was also charged the full sandwich amount for a wrap.
Overall, this experience was very disappointing and we won't be coming back anytime soon unless their customer service improves. Especially when I tried to give them an opportunity to make it right, before writing a public review. I still have not heard from them,...
Read moreMy daughter and I came here for takeout. From the get-go, we were confused about whether or not they were open; they never answered the phone when we called and their website said they were closed on Sundays (come to find out, the website is for the other restaurant on Broadway); however, when we drive by, their OPEN sign was on and the front door was propped open. So we poked our heads in and voila! They were open. THEN there was menu confusion. The nice gentleman told us they don’t carry their full menu on Sundays and that they carry some other catering company’s menu. Ok? But he pointed to a menu on the counter and said everything on that should be available. It just looked like their regular menu. Anyway, we ordered, waited a short time and got our food. My daughter had the pastrami breakfast sandwich, which she said was really good. I had a kale soup, which was decent. We got juice that was in plastic cups, but I don’t think it was fresh. I had banana pudding, which was good, but I think it came from a box and had Cool Whip on it. BUT the best thing we ate was the PUMPKIN PIE!!! It was so good it didn’t need whipped cream. The crust was pre-made, but man, that pumpkin filling was delicious, and it was most definitely house made. Really,...
Read moreI’ve been to Sammy’s before and loved their breakfast sandwiches 🔥 Today when my partner and I stopped in we did not have a good experience. The issue was with the worker and the lack of service she provided. Break down of service: -she was on her phone sitting at the table having a phone conversation when we walked in. -when she was behind the counter she continued her phone call -while we were trying to order she was like, “what’d you say” or “huh” because she was still continuing her phone conversation. -when she was preparing our order she put her conversation on speaker phone. -she only stopped her conversation when another employee came in. -while preparing another order she was wearing her purse and removed it during food preparation. -then was annoyed when the new customers sat at the only table with chairs down (where she was initially sitting) because her charger was still plugged in the wall behind them.
All in all, terrible service. I will still bring my business to Sammy’s because I like supporting local businesses and the food is good. Although if she’s working I will be turning around and walking out and taking my...
