I arrived at Dexter’s to find out that they closed the patio for the night due to weather predictions, which is where my reservation was. I was told that they texted everyone that had a patio reservation and it would be over an hour wait for the dining room. I looked through my messages and I did not have a text. The host, Tion, was also able to see on their end that they actually did NOT text me, and also saw the dinner was to celebrate my birthday. Tion took action immediately and prioritized us for the next table.

While we were waiting for the table, we were taken to the closed patio (since it did not end up raining) and Tyler brought us an entire bottle of sparkling rosé on ice, and 3 appetizers on the house (tallow fries, onion rings, and trout roe). My 3 friends and I were extremely impressed at the customer service and willingness to make up for the communication mistake— especially since I had not made a fuss about it at all. After a few minutes of VIP patio service, they relocated all our appetizers and bottle for us to the dining room and we were sat promptly! We ordered a couple other things— fried pickles, a cheese charcuterie, a dirty martini and an espresso martini. When it came time to order entrées, we were FULL and took our small check! The food was very good but my service experience here was excellent. Tion and Tyler stood out to me, but 5-6 awesome staff members were making sure we were taken care of!

I will be coming again and I will order an entree next time… LOL. Can’t thank you guys enough for an awesome evening! Can speak for my whole group when I say we...

I saw the reviews and had to give it a try, BUT this did not hit on any level for us. Everyone of us were left not feeling well after we got home.

Started with Wings, cauliflower and tallow fries. Wings had a really thick breading and I could almost smell a little of that not so pleasant chicken smell to the when I bit into it. Fries were cold and hard when they arrived to our table and our server didn't come back for so long it wasn't worth bothering with, so we kept them. Cauliflower was good, but a tiny portion for the money and I the last one to complain about spending money on food.

2 of us had burgers, both were beyond over cooked, the skirt was almost the entire burger and a solid 2" all the way around of both patties we're almost as hard as beef jerky. Again server didn't come back for a while, so we just kept it. Buns were great and I feel like the quality of the meat and cheese was good, the cook just got got it a little too much last night.

We all agreed that the kids chicken stripes were the best thing we ate last night. Good flavor.

Coconut cake was good. With the experience we had with every other aspect of the meal, I absolutely would not make a special trip just for it, but if you find yourself here and want dessert, try it.

When we were leaving these was another couple walking down the stairs and the lady said "we'll that definitely wasn't the best dining experience we've had" and the gentleman with him replied "Yeah that definitely wasn't the best". So it left me a little confused on how this business has a...

Found out about this place from a coworker. The online review was great, and given that my wife and I had a great experience eating at Parlour Bar in St. Paul, the price didn't really deter me from trying.

It's a Sunday at 1:30 pm, the church crowd is no longer around and the restaurant was quiet with less than a dozen people dining there. The floor was not cleaned when we were there as my friend stepped on some leftover fries even before sitting down. The table was so wobbly too that there was no way we could've had any drink on that table so we moved to the bar.

Having done our homework, we didn't waste time looking at the menu so we told the server right away what we wanted: a dexter burger($17) and a serving of fries($11).

I like my food piping hot when it comes to my table. That is why i was surprised by how fast it came. It did not take more than 4 minutes for the food to show up before me. My suspicion was confirmed. The burger was obviously reheated, overcooked, and salted to death.

Given the price point and the quality of the patty (wagu?), I would think the option of doneness is a must and that it is made to order. It was not. Well done all the way; not only that, the fries tasted like its been sitting under the lamp for quite some time. I did not bring it up to the staff at the time because I did not want to be a difficult customer.

The staff was kind and professional. The atmosphere was relaxing and all. But I don't think I will be returning...

Although I anticipated liking this new casual sports bar concept from Del Prado, I didn't really know what to expect. First impression: understated decor and lacking character. Not much to look at other than TVs placed on most walls. They used shades of beige and standard non creative lighting. The seating was a lowlight. They stuff as many tables, 6 inches apart, as they can in there, and the chairs are hard and uncomfortable. If they are trying to get patrons to sit and rack up a tab while watching games, their chairs betray that mission. The food: a mixed bag. They pair three weak house made accompaniments with the oysters, each of which needs more punch. The cheese plate charcuterie was good, though a tad overpriced for the portion. They offer a meat plate and a cheese plate, each for $19, but need to offer a combo. We also had the liver pate with strawberry and mint. It was good, if a little thin in its consistency. We had two burgers, the mushroom burger and the bacon burger. Both were good, but in a city with many elevated burgers competing for top ranking, neither of these will be in the ranking conversation. The server was friendly but overworked, which resulted in long wait times. Drinks were good, but expensive and somewhat small. Overall, it feels like a run of the mill suburban casual restaurant but with the pricing of a high-end, more creative city destination. We would go back with friends, but we won't go out of our way.

The overall atmosphere did not deliver on the promise of “sports bar” nor did it serve us “casual fine dining” as many other DDP restaurants claim their fame. The overall atmosphere was as uninspiring as the food was… bland and out of place. The chicken wings came out tiny and lukewarm… sad for a price of $16… The fried pickles were overly salted and the ratio of decent sized spears to crispy tidbits was not enough to justify even the seemingly low price of $9. The oysters were shucked with mediocrity and I doubt they’re serving enough of these to keep rotation fresh… Service gets 3 stars as the staff was friendly and engaging enough, but not attentive to our party even though we were some of the only remaining guests in the building and we ate dessert next to a melting-icey oyster shell platter in front of us. We had high hopes for this Daniel Del Prado adjacent restaurant, but it seems to be an underwhelming experience overall. Perhaps one of several burger options might have been a better choice….? The only redemption to be found was in the cocktail and wine program. At least you’ll be able to get a decent buzz here, but you will pay premium prices for it.
