Server, Al + Chef Oscar + Fun Ambience = World Class Excellence It happened, Friday, August 29th, 2025, we had the overall greatest service experience of our entire lives! We were so impressed by our Server, Al, that we extended our weekend trip, so we could come back again to “Hey Y’all Tipsy Taco Bar” in NE Minneapolis, MN. Some of you might already know of “Hey Y’all” as it is the old, “Betty Danger’s” restaurant/bar. It’s fun, flashy and memorable, but it’s every bit as memorable on the inside as it is on the outside thanks to Server, Al. Al made it a whole experience. She was enthusiastic, fun, genuine, positive and had contagious energy. She went above and beyond and was wonderful at anticipating needs, even ones you didn’t know you had (i.e. “Here’s some pink himalayan salt, I think the guac needs more salt tonight.”). We were exhausted from traveling and the busy work week and she turned that right around and brought our energy back! She truly gave the best service. We were absolutely blown away! She knew her products well, had extensive menu knowledge and knew all of the inner workings of the entire establishment. At work lately, we’ve been talking about “World Class Service”. When I think of “World Class”, Al is the example I think of. She was so complimentary and spoke so beautifully of us and of Chef Oscar. She was also so excited for us to eat his delicious culinary creations, but in reality, the mirror can turn right back her way. She was just being herself and was also so humble. The best part was that she motivated me as a human and inspired me in my service towards others, which is something that is near and dear to my heart. It reminded me of “purposeful/selfless service” and “practicing gratitude” as she was a shining example. My other favorite part was watching how she smiled and how her disposition was after she walked away from another table she was serving. I saw how genuine she was and her beautiful servant heart. I could go on and on, but now I’ll leave it up to you to check things out for yourself! You can’t go wrong, excellent service, food and ambience. Ask (or reserve online) for Al as your Server when you go to “Hey Y’all Tipsy Taco Bar”! P.S. The food was also exceptional! The BEST tortilla shells, tortilla chips, queso, guacamole we’ve ever had! Excellent N/A drinks as well! The tacos were fabulous with such fresh ingredients. You could tell they were delicately and thoughtfully prepared. …the lime, the cheese, the meat…just excellent. CAN’T WAIT to come back!

Hey Y’all Tipsy Taco Bar — A Rocky Start with Potential We checked out Hey Y’all Tipsy Taco Bar on what turned out to be their first fully open day with new staff—and it showed. Let’s start with the basics: they were already out of margarita mix by 6:30 PM. That’s right—a taco bar out of margarita mix, while we watched a waiter carry full margaritas to a table that arrived after us. Not a great look. The menus didn’t list any prices, so we had to dig online to find out that tacos run $7 a pop—and you only get one per order. The vibe was upbeat and casual, but things were clearly disorganized. Staff were friendly but a little rushed and hard to flag down, especially since there were no uniforms or name tags. It took 25 minutes just to place our entrée order, and another 20 before my solo taco arrived. Early on, a waiter accidentally spilled a tray of chips on me—which, while kind of hilarious in hindsight, didn’t help the first impression. The chips themselves were actually pretty good: thick, crisp, and nicely salted. The smoked queso was a surprise hit for me—rich and flavorful. My friend Kade wasn’t a fan, though, and thought they should have labeled it “smoked” since it didn’t taste like traditional queso. As for the tacos, they were fine. The chicken taco was already sold out, so I went with the lone vegetarian option. It was fresh, but the citrus was intense—so much lime or lemon it made my mouth pucker. Definitely not worth $7, though. After two attempts to flag someone down for the bill, we finally settled up and left feeling a little let down, but also hopeful. It’s their first day with a new crew, and while the chaos was real, there’s potential here once they smooth things out. Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Would I go back? Maybe... after they’ve had time to find their rhythm, Fix their menu,—and restock the margarita mix.

Sadly, I don't even want to give one star. We went for my 30th birthday (6/3) with such great excitement for the new restaurant at a beloved location. It was truly the most disappointing experience and felt like at any moment we would figure out we were on Punk'D or something. We made a reservation and the only one we could get was 5:30 PM. The place had no more than 4 other parties at the time so I am not sure why we couldn't get a later reservation. The server was kind and mentioned it was her second day. However, multiple things went wrong. She spilled water all over our table, spilled cherry coke into my husbands water and gave us appetizer plates after we had already eaten the appetizer and she had taken it away. Both my husband and my father ordered the Taco combo with the side of beans and rice but the beans were out of stock and the rib taco was out of stock. They were charged for the rice and beans without receiving both items. I waited while my family ate their food. Suddenly mine shows up covered in dairy which was not noted on the menu. I have a diary allergy and wasn't able to order any items with dairy as apparently it is already mixed in. I don't understand how squeezed on sour cream and shredded cheese are already mixed into a taco but I ordered a taco salad that was meant to be corn and avocado. I then had to wait for a new meal while my family finished theirs. My husband got asked if he wanted a refill to which he declined but wanted to finish his cherry coke. Nope she took it with her. Twice we were given or they attempted to give us other peoples food and drinks that we didn't order. The only good thing that came out of the evening was we went to Cold Stone for dessert. Safe to say it was overpriced, understaffed, understocked on basics and all around disappointing for my 30th birthday. Oh and the Farris Wheel and Mini Golf were not operational. An incredibly...

Wish I could not give them any stars I went on Saturday late afternoon, and I instantly loved the vibe going in the hostess were super sweet and I did not have a reservation so being sat pretty quick, was surprising, the waitress comes over and ask if she can start us with drinks we said yes please water and a sprite, super simple we got our water and then 7 minutes later after ignoring us(more her running bar drinks to other tables right next to ours) she ask if we would like to order I say “may I have the sprite I order “she said she totally forgot which is fine !! I understand it happens waitress brain I get it. But what I don’t get is after I order my food and it was brought to us, only took about 10 maybe 12 minutes not bad.. but what was bad was this soggy pink basket of fries sat in front of us, and I ordered the taco combo ! Smashburger taco and the “elote” taco, looked some what promising but as I took a bite from the “elote” taco it lacked flavor it lacked presentation is was overall a sad taco Then onto the other taco which also lacked seasoning in general, and was not a cohesive taco which is something to look for when trying to eat it, anyways I push those to the side waitress comes over and ask what’s wrong I tell her it alright she insist I tell her what wrong so she can tell the chef, so I do. As she leaves I turn to try my “queso “ I was presented with queso which had a layer of film on it which indicates it sat there for a while and got cold and it also taste like velveeta(this is me assuming please correct me if I’m wrong) Which something I don’t like to taste in restaurant because we are better then that in this chef industry , Overall I give there food a -5/10 because you can see with the quality of food they bank on people buying there overpriced drinks and being drunk Also spent 60$ for two people which is okay but I should not have had to pay for food I didn’t...
