If you want to enjoy your time in the cities stay away from this hotel. The front staff specifically was so rude. We were told we were upgraded and were put into a dirty room (white sticky residue all over counters in room and bathroom) hair and dirt on counters, no sheets on the bed?? ... We were told we had $30 to spend a day due to diamond membership and didn't so that was a surprise on our bill! We were charged twice for our hotel on a Saturday so our funds weren't available on either account, what a great time. Front desk staff wasn't friendly either. We asked for a map of the skyway to walk to the Vikings game and the lady with the black head dress on said oh sure here's the map, then when we came back and said how do we get to it she smirks and says "oh it's closed today haha". Then decided to stare at us and when we spoke to the manager hid behind her computer. When we asked how they would take care of this they said they can't do anything. Imagine being a diamond member of Hilton hotels and getting treated this way. When speaking to the front desk and asking to speak with anyone we talked to previously they had "never heard of that person" "don't have a manager with that name". Oddly enough they found them though when we went to the front desk. We were told we'd get a call back regarding some of the issues and still haven't heard back. We were told they posted the charge on one card yet it's pending on both accounts. We're unwilling to talk to my bank on the line to remove one of the charges and put us on hold for ungodly amounts of time then said oh yes can you just hold, I think they just started 'accidentally' hanging up at the end of this. When we left, they charged us for everything they said they wouldn't! First trip out of town in over a year to a new mom and dad and we dealt with the WORST customer service I've ever seen in my life. The manager Shay was great in person but does NOT return phone calls and didn't really cause any comfort in the fact we had a horrible stay with any response. Would've been a perfect trip if it weren't for the horrible staffing and customer service at this horrid hotel. 10/10 recommend staying anywhere but this place. (I have tried to call over & over & talk to someone about this situation and have been given the run around) the response to my review is just for others to think they care- I still have yet to get a response from them...
Read moreI stayed there in July while traveling to Minneapolis for work, my first time out there. The location is very convenient. The service was very nice. I like the pool, spa, and gym rooms as well as their private locker rooms so you don't have to trek through the whole hotel like many other hotels even owned by Hilton.
That said, it was very bizarre having to request a microwave for our room or only use the one in the café in the lobby during café business hours. They did give us a microwave upon request though! Thanks Hilton! That was very helpful. The website mentions shuttles but all shuttle services were unavailable, unfortunately. We somewhat planned on using those. Be warned they may not be a thing when you are there and not to plan on them without asking the hotel yourself regardless of what the website says. No free wifi unless you're a member but my member wifi also only worked intermittently the whole 6 days/5 nights I was there which made it so I couldn't work from my hotel room when I had planned to on this work trip.
Food in the restaurant was good! I really enjoyed my breakfast there. I don't recommend the little cafe/market. They lock their bathrooms at weird hours so if you're out late to business dinners or anything else, be warned to either go before coming back or wrap up with anyone who isn't welcome back in your hotel room quickly because our card keys didn't even let us in.
The lack of towels in our room was very funny, it was less towels than we had people staying in the room. But at least they brought more so we didnt have to all communal share towels for showering for 6 days. Hand towels are one thing, but bath towels? 👀 I'm not sharing those with other folks except maybe my spouse who was not with myself or my colleagues on this trip haha. They very sweetly and efficiently brought us extras on request! I've just never had so few towels at any Hilton property even with less people on the room.
But the room was nice. Simple, classic Hilton room. Very much what you expect from a Hilton. Comfortable and dependable for sure. Those beds are SO comfy. I want to sleep in one...
Read moreI traveled here for a convention. There were plenty of small inconveniences; our room was not ready at check-in, so we were offered an upgrade at cost. Valet service is quite expensive. About half the elevators were not moving at all, despite being golden (lol). The elevator repairs were taking place close to our new room, which was loud but not painfully so. The flooring was all new and the general aesthetic was pleasant, though many of the wall panels in the lobby and hallways seemed to be aging/cracking and there was a significant amount of dust in the higher-up (unreachable by hand) decorations. As I am particular about temperature, I was impressed that the convention floors and our room had fantastic cooling. All staff, including bartenders, check-in desk clerks, and custodial crew did an excellent job across the board. The hotel is in the center of Minneapolis proper and there is access by foot to as much food and activity as one has time for on a trip. Obviously, many of these gripes are minor, but the cost does beget a bit more care in the maintenance of the hotel itself. Unfortunately, I was halfway through a sandwich in the lobby bar/restaurant Ten01 when I saw a mouse scurry across the floor, over a booth seat, up to the booth seat back, then down into a crack in the floorboard. I soon after saw a second mouse, this one smaller, peek his head out and drop down to sniff around before retreating again. I warned the staff and they made note of it and comped my meal, which was expected but comforting. The next day, I saw a group eating at the booth the mice were living in, which was frankly unacceptable. While this hotel is located in the middle of a huge city and an occasional pest is understandable, multiple are not (certainly not at the level of quality that is expected in a Hilton). If extra care is taken in the general upkeep of the hotel, this could easily be a 4-star rating. Consider your options when travelling here, as there are many nearby hotels that offer similar...
