It was a first time experience eating Columbian food. Overall the experience was good .

The entrance was confusing we thought the place was closed for each door that we tried was locked but we could see people eating. So there had to be a way in.

Perhaps the proprietor never enters the restaurant from the front door because there was graffiti painted on it and it didn’t look very welcoming.

The tables were in ill condition as many of the tops were scratched and the finish was peeling off.

Paper napkins and pitted cheap flatware. You might find in their country but it doesn’t pass for very good service here. Especially for the prices we paid.

What I could see in the dim lighting the floors were in good repair though dull and dirty looking.

The decor matched the theme with paintings or prints of village life.

As for the food it was very starchy and tasteless. plantains and yucca fried up crunchy but virtually the same as potatoes.

Even the sauces were dull and faintly flavored.

They brought popcorn to the table as a preamble to the appetizers.

I got a huge platter of chicken beef and pork sausage, then some sweet plantains. And then there were potato wedges, thick cut yucca patties, some cilantro sprinkled a cross the top

But it all tasted the same even with the sauces. Which is all right for the British or Swedish palate...

Came here because it’s my sisters family’s go to spot for karaoke and good Ecuadorian food. The best part? We stayed for hours for karaoke. My nieces are known by other regulars and staff are so used to them, it was such a fun environment! The food was also amazing. I can’t recall what my plate was called but I would for sure order it again. We also enjoyed a yummy fruit drink, I believe mine was passion fruit. Dessert was tiramisu and tres leches for our table and we liked them both. The worst part? I honestly can’t complain. We were there for literally hours and hours and never once did staff complain and they constantly checked with us if we wanted anything else. Our table shared the mic with another regular customer and the atmosphere was truly welcoming and we had a blast. I also really liked that this restaurant is huge and where they do karaoke is in a separate room. It does have an open entrance but it still is away from others who might not want to be sitting in that loud area. We’re planning on coming again with...

please please please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read this before you go and eat at this restaurant , first of all the service is bad , the place is dirty, waiters are bad unfriendly , but the worst thing was the food. i can discribe in one word !!!!!!!!!!! disgusting !!!!!!!!!!! all full of grease, no taste, it seems like they deep fry everything . i do not know how they got 4 1/2 stars . this place is really bad, nothing compared to chimboraso. do not waste your money in this place. my wife throw up right after we came out . it is good to read the reviews but in this case, all they said about this place is not true. and if there was a -6 or -7 on the stars i will give them that rate. bad bad bad bad...

We visited La Colonia restaurant for the first time today, and we loved it! It was close to the Strike Theater, where we were seeing a show. We visited on a Friday, around 6:00, and it wasn't super busy. My husband and I ordered a plate to share, as well as an appetizer. We first got the Empanadas de Carne, which were amazing! It came with a wonderful, spicy sauce! The texture was perfect, and they were served hot! We split an entree, the Lomito Saltado. Wow! Wow! Wow! It was so good! A great combination of ingredients and flavors! It entered our Clean Plate Club! The staff was super friendly and kind. We will visit again with family and friends!!
