The first thing that struck me was that it was very noisy upon walking in and remained that way. At first only about half the restaurant was filled, but soon it was full. The next thing was that I was left awkwardly waiting at the front of the room by the 'Specials' sign for a full 2 minutes waiting to catch the attention of either of the waitresses to see about getting a table. It didn't seem like a place where you just seated yourself, though perhaps I just should have. Things got worse from here. When ordering, I asked about what flavors of fried ice cream they have. I was told that usually it is just vanilla, but they didn't have any tonight. It's really apparently that hard to keep ice cream in stock when it's 45* outside. I decided upon a Thai Tea instead to spend my calories. It was the worst Thai Tea I've ever had. It was completely unsweetened, and at least 75% milk. I almost asked to get some more tea added to bring some life back into it, but then I tasted my curry. Which brings me to the next thing... When ordering, the waitress (she neither provided her name nor wore a badge) didn't ask for a spice level. I offered up that I would really like mild tonight (usually I like medium/house but was in a bit of a hurry and mostly just wanted the flavor). I was then informed that they couldn't change the spice level as it was one mix. I have absolutely never been to a Thai restaurant where they couldn't adjust the spice! The waitress said that if I'd had any spice before then it'd be ok. At the end of my meal, I'd eaten about 10% of the curry and didn't want to force myself anymore. The spice was at the upper level of my tolerance. And it wasn't very good substance-wise--a lot of Thai basil mixed into some bamboo shoots and tofu with a couple bell pepper slices and that's about it. The curry sauce was at least rich and how it should be. The waitress mentioned that it didn't seem like I was enjoying it and that one lady had asked for coconut milk to be added in once but it had changed the flavor. This is why I decided against asking for more tea added to my Thai tea--so I could use it to cut the spice. The waitress was nice enough and it's not her fault that they were out of stock on items and inflexible to American palates while having a restaurant in America, but I wish I'd been geared toward ordering something else instead. There was one delight: cream cheese wontons served with sweet and sour sauce. Little wontons of fried dough filled with creamy cream cheese--who could hate those?? I put the garnish of shredded cabbage and carrots on top of each wonton and drizzled the sauce. It was perfection. Pricey for what it was, but worth it at the time. I'm glad I got those to fill my up before the showdown with the curry or else I would have left starving and completely dissatisfied. Needless to say, I won't...
Read moreTake my review with a grain of salt. The owners or manager guys that are here all the time are horrible. I placed an order online that went to the wrong store, yes I know my fault (these fellas were not shy to keep telling me that). I chose this place because it was within walking distance of my house, as my car was just totaled by a drunk driver the night before. When I got there and found out the order went to the wrong store I apologized and explained the situation. The guys told me there was nothing they could do. I said I understand you didn’t mess up, and I have no issue waiting for the order to be made and I will reorder from you and call the other store to cancel. They told me that they wouldn’t make my order and I need to go to the other location and get the food I ordered. I told them that wasn’t possible due to the car situation. They told me they still wouldn’t be making my order, but tried to give me a menu to order at a different date. No thank you!
I have managed and worked at many restaurants over the years and have seen this issue happen very frequently. We have always taken the order and called the other location to have it canceled. Never would we make the customer feel bad or refuse their service. If we did we knew we should probably start looking for another job. What horrible customer service for a place that produces only mediocre food to begin with.
For an issue that could have been an easy fix, they instead refused a $60 order and lost me, my family, and my friends as customers, in what can only be assumed as a short time left in business.
FYI: when I called the other location to explain the situation and apologize that I wasn’t going to come and get the order, they were very understanding and apologetic. But made sure that I understood they had separate owners.
Even they don’t want to be associated with this location, that should tell you everything you...
Read moreI wish there was a No star rating, I would give that. This is by far the worst customer service experience I ever experienced in my life. The waiter was very rude and not friendly at all. I came for lunch with a co-worker, we ordered two orders of Thai fried rice(lunch special) one with chicken and shrimp and the other with just shrimp. We waited for about 10minutes for our food, when the food came, I couldn’t find the shrimp I ordered in my food, which cost $4 by the way 🤨😒. I called on this rude Asian waiter guy to tel him there was no shrimp in my food, he didn’t believe me and started using a big spoon to dig into my meal looking for the said shrimps (no respect at all). He eventually brought me 4 pieces of shrimp, I never said a word to him. He was very rude , giving is attitude like he knew us from Adam, he never asked us if we were doing okay at our table or show a sense of care to us as a customer. My co worker tried to ask him why he treated us that way, this waiter dude gave him an awful look, and was asking loudly “what u need, what u need” meanwhile this waiter was asking some white customers(guess they have their fav customers) “are you enjoying your food’ u need anything else “ which is okay. We will not be returning to this restaurant Location On central avenue ne and neither will anyone from where I work, because I will share the experience we had at this particular...
