I wish Google had four and a half stars... Leeann Chin is a Minnesota institution, not the best Chinese/Asian food I've had and certainly not the worst. It's consistently OK, and across almost all locations. But what I wanted to write about today isn't the food, it's the service and people. In the past month, I've ripped 3 different casual dining places a new one. Not online, but in direct comments to the corporation/store. Some care, some don't. The reason for my complaints has been the quality of service, attitude of staff (or managers), and cleanliness. Yeah, I like my food prepped on a clean line, and preferably served by people who act like they care more than a high school cafeteria worker. The Quarry Leeann Chin gets an A+ on all of these. The food was prepped like it should be. The line was clean, well stocked, and the kitchen was on top of replenishment. The staff were all engaged in what they were doing, be it serving customers, backing the line, or cleaning. Everything flowed like a restaurant should. I got my order, walked out, and then walked back in to tell the manager about it. There are reasons this store is different. Now if senior management could replicate it across a couple of others just a little further...
Read moreI worked for Leeann Chin from age 16- 18 in Brooklyn center in the late 90's. When I first started working there, the cases(food containers on display) stayed stocked regardless. Well, since that created a lot of unnecessary waste, they had us start keeping the cases about a 1/4 full towards the end of the night. After that wasn't enough to pinch pennies, they started doing cook to order towards the end of the night, depending on how busy it was.
Tonight I stopped at this location. Walked in the door at 8:30 on the dot. There was no Peking Chicken made, and the lazy worker said they were out of it. I ask her, "are you out, or do you just not want to make more?" She then responds with, "It's too late for us to make more." These workers had to have started their closing work at 8:00 considering the place was mopped, wiped down, etc. LEEANN CHIN herself would be rolling over in her grave. Nice lady, I actually met her once upon a time. Do better, if not for me, then for LEEANN CHIN's...
Read moreEaten here twice, bourbon chicken entree, then shrimp entree. Bourbon chicken was extremely delicious but chicken extremely fatty, 1/3 or more unedible, all fat, rice portion minimal size. Shrimp entree very good, but overchaged me for wrong shrimp, rice again minimal portion. Order takers should only handle your food containers on the outside and edges, worker puts her hands and fingers all over inside of containers and lids while waiting for customer to order, extremely poor food safety handling practices. Very inefficient order system, my meal was overcharged because order taker yells to cashier, this will always create errors in customer's orders, the business needs to be more professional such as a wireless PDA or simular electronic system, ensuring cashier receives your exact order. Receipt has no number or website asking for customer dining experience, which means they have no idea how the store is doing (based on customer's...
