The servers were very attentive and friendly. It is a very convenient spot if you are biking, hiking etc. The coffee wasn't great. We had a Carmel frap and light roast. We didn't finish either of them. Frap was really icy and coffee tasted a little old. Maybe they put it in the same containers. The breakfast sandwich was pretty solid There are some great seats outside. I would skip this place and find another local shop.

Such a beautiful space, has an area for everyone with a large conference table area, beautiful patio and light filled tables. Coffee options are dark and light roast with a vegan pastry option that is giant. I was thinking they would be half the size but they are huge hand pies filled with vegan cheese and meat. Extremely flaky and delicious. Refills are $1+ tax for coffee, they also have hibiscus tea.

Very nice experience. Both servers were super friendly . My order was great and timely. Fun little coffee shop in Minneapolis. Looks like there’s a semi-private meeting room and it might be a good place to work remotely. Saw this coffee shop passing by and knew I wanted to stop at some point. Food was tasty

I’ve been frequenting this gem of a coffee shop since it opened almost 10 years ago. Although, it’s gone through many transformations since then. The latest transformation, Loons Coffee, is certainly the best reincarnation.

In fact, since I broke my foot over two months ago it has become my go-to place for MT (mental/mocha therapy). I also go to PT but that’s a different story.

Loons has great ambiance, with an adjoining restaurant and gift shop, and a scenic location next to the Mississippi River on Lake Street near the Minneapolis Rowing Club. There is also a walking trail on the river that, unfortunately, I can’t use now. The trail meanders by a beautiful white sand beach with a view of the U of M and downtown Minneapolis. Above the river is a walking/bike trail stretching for miles that I can’t use either. But, there is a convenient parking lot next to Loons with handicap parking and only 25 steps to Loons front door… I can hobble this far.

Although Loons has only been opened a relatively short time, it has the most savy management. They are consistently brewing a great blend of Ethiopian coffee… their signature coffee (a local favorite); stocking delicious bakery items as well sandwiches, patties, fruits and salads; developing a closer relationship with the Longfellow Grill for their customers’ convenience. Like all service industries since Covid, they may have had a few staffing problems. But, they are making sure their core staff are friendly and...

Let me start off by saying the coffee is excellent. I love what I order and am so happy to support a small business. I was heartbroken that the Dunn brothers closed. I was a frequent customer for many years. This is the 3rd time I’ve gone in and this visit in particular was enough to make it my last. The two young ladies working the register were at a loss for words when I asked for a couple extra shots in my latte. I’m so confused and thrown off because this is a coffee shop is it not? The young lady working on the register gave a very loud and uncomfortable reaction to my order of extra shots. It almost made me feel guilty and some sense of embarrassment. Maybe it’s the youth of today, I don’t know. It was off putting. I was also charged more for the same drink than last time. She also seemed very proud to tell me how much the drink cost with its high price because of the extra shots I ordered. Just be mindful that people have lives and things going on. I’m struggling with a loss of a parent and getting all of their affairs in order and working full time on top of that. I look forward to that one drink to start my day. I wanted to make this my go to coffee spot but I just can’t deal with that reaction Every-time I order my drink. Unfortunately I won’t be back. Customer service needs some work or just a little empathy for others. A little dose of minding your own business and just let me order what I ordered would have...

I was just visiting the city for the weekend and i love coffee. Usually my experiences at any coffee shop is wonderful. Everything was fine walking into Loons Coffee and I got in line. There was one man making drinks and he had no help. He had to go in the back and get his co worker. She started taking peoples orders but was not attentive to who was speaking. When i was ordering, she was writing on a cup and i asked if she was ready and she said yes. She did not look at me THE WHOLE TIME and was not typing in my order. I get that people have bad days or customers can be rude, but she is not meant for the service industry if she can’t put on a fake smile and look at someone while they are ordering. When i got my coffee, i realized they forgot the flavor....
