Wow got to see it. There is a trail that runs between the paved trail and the Mississippi River. It is a great walk, some serious wilderness right in the city. The beach is amazing, pure soft white sand in the middle of the woods.

A fairly quite, steep sandy beach with some great views of the river. Saw 1 other person while I was here and they have a few trash cans. Quite a few steps to get down to though.

Hung out with some buddies here. Pretty simple hike to get here and there’s a clear trail. I would wear hiking boots though.

A fine hangout spot with soft sand and nice scenery, but the entire top half of the hill that is the beach is gray from ash and charcoal dust. No exaggeration. There was also a bunch of broken glass in at least one of the fire mounds. I wouldn't recommend this as a swimming beach or a place to let small children loose, but it's a decent stop along a river hike. Good spot for a picnic maybe, but take your trash with...

Favorite place to walk to to be alone, but the beach is dirty with trash, broken glass, and cigarette butts. It really bums me out sometimes. It’s still a great place to go to connect with nature a bit.
