Rarely does a coffee spot earn, in my mind, the rank of absolute perfection. Rarely does a coffee spot set the standard, establish to every other coffee place the goal that you should be constantly striving for.
Crema absolutely meets that goal.
They might just be a hole in the wall, true. It's not the sort of place you sit down and sip for hours - after all, they don't even have seating! But that's not what they're trying to be. Crema is the kind of place you come in - flustered, cold, just wanting one thing to go right - and a barista genuinely welcomes you back, happy to see you. You order your usual, and they give you your favorite - somehow, it's just as good as you remember, only better. As you leave, you're already craving your next visit. The entire interaction only took 5 minutes - but it was a fantastic 5 minutes. Sometimes, coffee is as simple as that. Just a stop on our day, with the neighbors we appreciate and love.
Absolutely give them a go. They are a cashless establishment, so make sure to bring a card or a phone with...
Read moreCrema is my Go-to neighborhood coffee shop and I can’t say enough about how much I love it. It’s owned by people local to the neighborhood, and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their business by how they strive to provide a nice atmosphere, delicious coffee, and friendly service. The coffee is smooth and strong, the seasonal drinks are creative and not overly sweet, and the dairy free rotating soft serve just gets better every time. They are also super friendly to kiddos and doggos, with treats available at the counter. My dog tries to go in every time we walk by! I love having this little spot to go to for my weekend treat, and I always take friends and family when they visit!
Just an FYI for new customers that they don’t carry cash and are a grab-and-go shop. There’s a rail to stand at and some outdoor chairs, but it’s not the sort of coffee shop where you go and hang out for...
Read moreThe seasonal iced drink was flavorless. Ended up putting half and half with lots of simple syrup to get it down. Tossed most of it, though. The americano was mid, drip coffee. I don't know because they were out.
Staff looked a bit disorganized, and the prep area was messy. I'm not sure if they were new or something. They were friendly and doing their best despite the many customers they were serving.
No seating whatsoever. Can't really fault them on this because their store size is out of their control. Would be great if the bagel place next door was more welcoming you could maybe have your drink in their large dining room. Sadly, it is closed for dine in.
Won't be back to Crema because there are too many issues and not enough positives. If you're in the area, I recommend another place...
