Oasis Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Minneapolis

I ordered the Family Platter for Two, which is advertised on the website as including gyros, chicken, kofta, lamb, falafel, hummus, samosas, basmati rice, pita bread, and salad. When I picked up my order, I noticed the samosas were missing.

When I went back to the counter, the gentleman told me they didn’t have samosas. He did not apologize or explain upfront. Only after I repeatedly pointed out that they should have been transparent about this and suggested that they offer a substitute did he then offer me either a refund for the samosa portion or a substitute item from the menu. He did not seem very remorseful, and it felt like I was the one pushing for a solution rather than them taking responsibility.

As I was looking over the menu to choose a substitute, another staff member stepped in and told the kitchen to give me the samosas — which meant they did have them after all. That was extremely frustrating because it made it seem like the first person was being dishonest or withholding my order.

What makes this even more disappointing is that before this experience, I was genuinely hyping up this restaurant. I’ve always been impressed with their food and had been telling my friends and family to order from here. Unfortunately, today’s experience left a very sour taste in my mouth — not because of the food, but because of how the situation...

Oasis Restaurant is a gem that offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant is impeccably clean and tidy, creating a pleasant atmosphere from the moment you step in. The staffs are exceptionally welcoming, making you feel at home immediately.

I ordered the veggie plate, a side of basmati rice, and falafel, and I was thoroughly impressed. The grilled veggies were the star of the meal, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The falafel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, complementing the meal beautifully. The portions were generous, with the side dishes and main plates being quite substantial.

The outdoor seating area is wonderful, providing a serene and enjoyable setting to dine in, with a fast service. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed meal, whether you're alone or with company.

Additionally, the cashier was super helpful, guiding me through the menu and ensuring I had everything I needed. The overall service was outstanding, contributing to a highly positive dining experience. I would go there again. I would definitely visit Oasis Restaurant Riverside again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming...

I want to give this place a better overall rating because the food was really good, but I unfortunately have some food safety concerns. The employee running the cash register was going back and forth touching what should be sterile food surfaces and then touching the cash register and physical money. I understand it’s a small staff and thus needing to be doing multiple jobs at once, but i know from my experience with a comercial kitchen that it is not up to food safety standards to be running both of those jobs without washing your hands in between. The employee was wearing gloves but that doesn’t prevent the spread of illness if you don’t wash your hands before putting them on and aren’t putting on a new pair every time you come in contact with non sterile surfaces.
