For me, Acadia is a wonderful blend of my favorite bars around the 7-Corners/Cedar Riverside Neighborhood: Republic, Palmers, and Nomad. There are consistent trivia nights, video gaming nights, karaoke, and live performances on the elevated stage in the corner. It’s definitely bar food that is a cut above. I wouldn’t say the food makes it a destination spot, but there are always rotating food and drink specials, which make the experience a little unique every visit.
One of my favorite features is the alley patio in the summer. The shaded alley and its cool stone and brick and wind tunnel, hanging lights, and planters make it one of the ideal places to find consume a cold beer on a hot Minnesota day. The small tables make for intimate and memorable experiences with friends, fam, and 1st or 20th dates.
I also really enjoy being able to meet and communicate with the owner on a somewhat regular basis as he’s working the bar and/kitchen a quarter of the time that I visit.
Due to its price point, location, and culture, there’s always a great mix of patrons from across all walks of life that change with the ebb and flow of the operating of all the institutions and communities in the...
Read moreI work in the service industry, keep in mind. I went here after a concert at the Cedar Cultural Center. The bartender was snide and condescending from the get go. They weren't busy at all, so they had no reason to give anyone attitude. I ordered their special, which happened to be smoked drumsticks with a pickled egg, pickles, and hot jerk sauce on the side. The drumsticks came out cold as if they hadn't been heated up at all, and when I objected and asked if they could heat the drumsticks up, one of the bartenders shook his head at me like I was making a ridiculous request.
I am never coming back here. Horrendous servicd aside, the vibe I got is that this place is run by old punk Peter Pans who never gave up their glory days of acting better than everyone else, and continue to do so in their waning years. The employees I dealt with are sad individuals, and I will never give them another dollar of the money I earn in the same industry. Yes, they have craft beer, which is the bar's only redeeming quality, but literally any bar in the area will have an equal, if not better, selection of craft beer, so seek...
Read moreNice corner of the block bar and fun food place…live music. Down to earth and cozy. Fun for friends to hang out and relax over drinks and finger foods. And it was open late til 12am even on a Sunday night. Thank goodness bc I was hungry and didn’t have dinner and didn’t feel like cooking. Cheese curds were great! Crispy on the outside and cheese was melted inside and came out hot. I wasn’t that into the ranch like dressing tho. Curds were good without any sauce anyway. I also ordered cauliflower buffalo wings w margarita chili sauce and I wasn’t liking the mounds of chili sauce that was salty and oily bc it was deep fried and got mushy real fast as it was on a bed of wet cole slaw with pickled peppers. If it weren’t so wet and it was on the side I would have liked it more. I will stick w the cheese curds next time. Late night they have the “temp” menu which is fair bc barely any places are open so late so thank you Acadia! Overall a nice place to chill and the waitress...
