O. Meredith Wilson Library — Attraction in Minneapolis

It's been a few years, but I'm still disappointed with my experience here. As I was coming to the area on other business, I decided to request a hard to find book as I would arrive in town during the library's hours. Making arrangements was straightforward and the only positive part of my experience. I got the book and found the specific pages I needed easily enough. When I inquired about making paper copies, I was denied. I was told that the machines scan only, and was directed to the machine in question. I had two perfectly valid reasons for wanting paper copies: One, to validate the quality of the copy, and two, to ensure I got copies of all the needed pages (and three, I correctly anticipated I'd have plenty of downtime the next day - reading material!). So, I had to run the scanner on blind faith alone, and before leaving I decided as a failsafe to take pictures of the pages with my phone, but the light in the room had been turned down to eyestrain level in the name of energy conservation, forcing me to use my phone's flash for additional light. I did make prints once back at the hotel that evening, only to find the scanning machine was seriously overdue for a cleaning: every scan was severely streaked! Also, the pictures I'd taken were slightly off-focus in spite of the flash... and I STILL...
