I’m a Chicagoan, born and raised. I moved here a couple months ago, and recently I’ve had a taste for a Chicago style hot dog. So I came to Pappys Chicago Style Eatery. The presentation was good, but What I found lied under the pretty exterior really missed the mark. There wasn’t nearly enough relish, onion, or mustard. Also, there wasn’t any celery salt to be found. It was kind of bland. Which seems to be the way flavors are in Minneapolis, bland, and tasteless. It’s insulting. On top of it all, the onion rings were undercooked. The batter was raw in spots.

The best Philly steak sandwich I’ve ever had! Walked in. First time. Ordered my sandwich and within a few minutes it was ready. So fresh and delicious!!!! I came to Minneapolis from Wisconsin to see a show and decided to try Pappys! It was amazing ! They give you generous portions also !!!

This place use to be really good I’m not sure what happen. Chicken isn’t cleaned well enough still has hair, They barely put any of the seasoning on the food anymore, chicken wings really small and fries weren’t fresh. I Didn’t even eat it

The food WOULD HAVE TASTED GREAT if I didn’t have to drive up there for a second time and wait another 15+ minutes for my order. ELABORATING: I order pick-up through DoorDash. I go in there and there’s three Spanish speaking people- even though I was the only one in the restaurant the lady at the register was acting like she was in such a rush when I tried to add a cheesecake onto my order… After about 10 minutes of waiting I hear them discussing tilapia they probably don’t think I can understand… But I do, so I hurriedly walk over and say out loud “ HELLO, EXCUSE ME- I ordered catfish not tilapia. “The three of them turn around and the lady at the register reassures me that it was not tilapia she was putting in my box she was talking about a different order… Fast forward 20 minutes later when I finally get home and— what do you know !!!! To my surprise there is tilapia in my box… Which is so gross I don’t eat that fish (It’s literally like the pig of fish… Look it up). So, I am assuming that they didn’t think I would come back alllll the up there but I did… Oh I sure did… When I DO get back up there— the lady at the register has the nerve to tell me OK we will fix our mistake you have no reason to get attitude 😐😐 I wanted to be like “BITC* PLEASE!” But there were some nice looking church people and they’re dressed all nice and I didn’t wanna be rude infront of / TO THEM…. THEY ARE LUCKY ALL I SAID was “ I was just up here and I asked you specifically to make sure you’re not putting tilapia in my box because I ordered a catfish- I make it all the way home get ready to feed my kids and sit down and eat myself and when I open the box to make my own plate what do I see in there? The tilapia that all three of you lied and said you weren’t putting in there” …. I may have had a slight slight attitude but who tf wouldn’t ? Like come on now just rude and unprofessional all...

Omg all I can say is that this is one place that people should most def try because the food here is so so so freakin yummy so yummy that if I still lived over in Nth Minneapolis I would practically live in this here place cause I ate here often as well as thee (Brooklyn Park) location an in my experience both locations are delicious but [(Thee St'Paul MN locatioN)] is one place that I would most definitely not be eating at again [(ßecause uh too me theee food over at the St'Paul location is just not the same at all periodt cuz it's like it's uh just kinda thrown together like the employee didn't even try too put any real effort in too my order too even make me & husband wanna come back and I guess I just don't like that Sloppy •&• messY look with no type of "Love effort or even a little carE" when it comes 2 thee restaurants customers food orders and stuff cause it makes me think about thee prepping & thee cooking that went into getting my order ready, and stuff like that but again (that's just my opinion & experience) with that particular location "I don't wanna deter no one from trying it cause everyone has different kind of opinions from their experiences but I've had zero issues with theee Minneapolis, and theee Brooklyn park locations an only one issue with the St'Paul location so other that complaint I'd still recommend this place too all I know cause I love their food lbdas. Have a great day Everyone and thanks Pappy's for all your guy's...

Well for one thing I have been eating Italian beef sandwiches since 1979. I grew up in Illinois eating my first sandwich. It has always been good even add pappy's in Minnesota. I was a customer when it first opened there. Recently I bought five Italian beef sandwiches and ordered hot peppers on four of those sandwiches All was dipped. The beef I noticed is not the same It was dry and it was thick not thinly slice. The peppers they put on was not hot as it was before. Last time I was here was last year and the sandwich was great the peppers was very hot. I am so disappointed. I ate at pappy's when it first opened everything was great. But I noticed your Maxwell Street Polish had changed it did not taste the same and it wasn't the same as Maxwell Street I grew up there eating their Polish sausage. You only have an imitation not the real deal. Something needs to be corrected the beef needs to be marinated in the gravy. And thinly slice. Maybe change is good for you guys because you save money but what made you famous was the delicious sandwiches an authentic Polish sausage. Change back please. Thank you. By the way I drove all the way from Iowa 3 hours because you were the best. I won't be...
