This place was a very pleasant surprise and experience. I wanted to go here for my birthday with my family. We didn’t look at the menu (woops) and expected standard Mexican fare. We went for dinner which was tapas, small plates featuring Spanish cuisine. We ordered multiple different dishes and they were all fabulous. So glad we gave it a try and were introduced to authentic tapas food.
ALMENDRADO cheese plate was amazing, could have ordered two of these to share. CONCHAS scallops were delicious. GAMBAS AL AJILLO shrimp was huge and sauce was so flavorful and not spicy. PINCHO DE POLLO the chicken was so juicy and marinated in a delicious sauce leaving it great flavor. CARNE BRAVA was their signature dish and could see why. Very tender and could have eaten more. PAELLA SEVILLANA was more filling than the other dishes. Everything was presented so beautifully. They also accommodated my kids by making a chicken quesadilla which wasn’t on the menu (again, wasn’t prepared for tapas), it was such a nice experience. We would return for dinner again and to try the lunch menu which features more traditional...
Read moreI visited for the first time today after seeing its 5 star Google rating. I went for lunch. First, the choriqeuso and chips was wonderful. Get it. Chorizo and Queso melted together is so good. The chips are freshly made and have a nice crunch.
I got the Alambre with barbacoa. The onions, Red and yellow peppers, cheese, and beef were cooked to perfection. The portion was big - I could have easily shared my order and walked away pleasantly full. Everything was fresh. The service was friendly. Note that you order from a window/door by the kitchen. This is not fast food. It isn’t cheap either - although the generous portions make it easy to share an order.
They have a nice and simple dining area. Nothing flashy or fancy. Park in the lot outside the door.
Don’t let the fact that it is located behind a gas station cause any hesitation. This is a hole in the wall that you will want to tell your friends about.
As I left, I was encouraged to come back some evening to try their tapas. They are clearly proud of their cooking (as...
Read moreVisiting a friend in St Louis Park and we went her for an early dinner on Saturday. We ordered several tapas you share and everything was great! My 2 favorite tapas were the almond crusted Spanish cheese and the roasted cauliflower.. we recommended the cauliflower to some over diners and they loved as well. We also had the Brussels sprouts scallops, and carne Asado and everything was really good. Scallops were cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared both of the items available.Churros with chocolate and Flan. The Flan was the second best I've ever had and loved it. Churros were good as well but if I were to chose one id go with the Flan. Service was outstanding and the owner was very friendly. At lunch they service Tortas and one of the other diners ther highly recommended the specialty one. They had a good wine list with reasonable prices as well. Give it a try. I'd definitely come back when...
