It’s too easy to miss Ike’s if you’re looking for a dining experience while driving along Highway 7. And it is really a gem in the Minnetonka/Excelsior area. While its well known for its 8oz filet mignon, I think fewer are aware of the fantastic pork chop they serve up! And at only $24! The au gratin potatoes and asparagus sides are two of my favorites. The Walleye Almondine is also a top choice. The vegetable medley is unusually well seasoned and served at that point of perfection – not too overdone and soft. We’ve managed without reservations several times, but you do want one during peak hours. Check their Google Knowledge Graph to see the best days/hours to go. The eggs benedict is quite generous, coming with unlimited pancakes, bacon, sausage and hash browns. If you are really hungry, it is quite the deal in town. Their Beet Salad is perfect for lunch; it comes on a bed of spinach with lots of roasted beets, red onion, goat cheese, spiced pecan nuggets in a balsamic vinaigrette. The $16 cost is fair enough. The patio has been well planned with a high-top side and then across the front where there several seating choices. We enjoyed the visual and the sounds of the beautiful romantic 3-tier water fountain. There is a sweet little brook that runs along the west side among some flowers and shrubs. I recommend "The Weekender" Bloody Mary. It comes wonderfully packed with all things that can go in a Bloody and tastes freshly made versus like it came from a mix. We shared a rack of short ribs once and found them very tasty. There is additional parking along the street just south of Highway 7. It can be challenging to find parking during peak hours. Our service has been consistently good. Staff are friendly, may even joke a bit and seek to offer a professional service

I’m not happy with my experience at Ike’s. To put it plainly the food was not good. Everything lacked seasoning and most especially salt. I was most offended at the ribeye steak plate. It was 46$ but it was a thin cut steak. A clear rip off. It was FLAVORLESS. All I tasted was charr. I broke down and ordered the Bernaise sauce but the waiter forgot it and she took forever to make the rounds. When it did come my steak was ice cold. So upsetting but the waitress was obviously not able to keep up for some reason and never checked back in to ask if I even like the food. It was so bad. Steak isn’t meant to be slathered in steak sauce when the price is 46$. I ordered mid well and if I had known I was getting a thin cut ribeye I would have done mid rare. It was like eating shoe leather. I couldn’t send it back because our waiter was slower than molasses. There was not even 5 tables occupied this 4th of July. Busy wasn’t a factor in this case she just wasn’t good. Nice but not efficient at all. Our table spent 350$ before tip and I can say it was the worst money spent. The kitchen needs to step op their game and the chef needs to reevaluate his design and execution. Both were severely lacking. I do not need to season every single piece of my food. Please Ike’s do better for the ones who do have taste buds. You have so much potential.

Made reservations, showed up 10 mins before reserved time. Waited with my elderly mother while staff was on phone and walking past. Was going to question about parking, due to elderly mother having a walker and needing something closer. Waited 15 mins, without any acknowledgement we were there. From my observation, this business is more concerned about phone in, online orders than those with reservations and walk-ins. Parking is horrible and more friendly to online and order pick ups than elderly as there was only 1 handicap and 3 order pick ups spots, all next to the door. Ended up leaving without fulfilling the reservation as could see the service was going to be terrible. Doesn't matter how good the food might be, if the service isn't there, then it isn't worth it. I will if asked by anyone, recommended eating at a different establishment.

P.S. I think the restaurant could try working with the business next door to rent some parking space to alleviate some of the parking problems. As far as the service... Train staff to at least acknowledge potential customers when walking past or try to assist when noticing the host/hostess is busy. Again, I would recommend to anyone to eat at a different establishment.

In response to the comments below made by Greg, in regards to the review I made. Nice shift in attempting to blame on being busy and trying to come at a different or less busy time. What is a reservation for if not to ease entry during the times when a company is busy among other reasons? As for arriving or having reservations during your peek busy time? Every business could use that excuse for having bad and terrible service. Like I mentioned in my review, the service drives value. No service, no value. One may have a great product and yet worthless if there is no service to back it up. As for my comments on the parking, it's obvious we made it into the building, even with the horrendous parking. However, due to the lack of acknowledgement and being ignored, this couldn't even be addressed. Also, when we arrived, it was not busy anywhere with the exception of the bar. To the left of the lobby, all those tables were empty. As to the parking when we arrived, there was 1 of those 4 potential spots open. I assume, with no one in the lobby when we arrived, the other order pick up spot was being used as a regular parking spot. The other 2 handicap spots were being used by vehicles without handicap plates or stickers. Thanks for responding to my review and leaving this comment 'If I can do anything to make a return visit possible, please contact me. Greg Pratt, General Manager'. Other than coming on here and contacting you in this manner, there is no way in which was provided to contact you. I am standing by my review and will continue with my advising other to find another establishment in which to eat than...

Not sure where I would start. There was so much first.Time I'd ever been there.Came in order to pops in a milkshake. The pop was just caramel water, The milkshake was just watery chocolate milk. There was an old ice cream Substance to it. Ordered our food, My food came out my Cole slaw was warm, My french fries were not even warm, In my ribs and chicken the sauce was so spacy.I should say peppery, That my tongue hurt.I couldn't even eat . So the waiter never came over to check to see How are food was so I went up To talk to the manager. Told her about my food, n drinks, And about my two sons steak dinners That were absolutely horrible. The vegetables look so old Like they have been sitting in a pan all day, The steak Tasted funny and it smelt, So my one son did not finish his, They also. Had to pay for an Upgrade on the augratn potatoes. Which were awful. Very very disappointed. But anyway I Went to talk to the manager about the meals. She was saying she would pay for the shake. And what else would I like to eat?And I said nothing.I won't eat anything else here.Or would I try anything else. Not going to explain the whole thing that was said because it was nonsense. So she said she would get the bill and I said well we'll wait at the table, Never got the bill for another fifteen minutes , so finally I went back up to her and she said oh I thought your waiter brought the bill I said no,I haven't seen him. So anyway, she had cut the bill in half. I paid it and we left our food. Whenever I go back there again?I don't know if it's the location that you think you can charge. Those kinds of prices or what. But I do want to add that About four young women came in While we were waiting are bill, sat next to us, And I heard them say how expensive the food was they got up and they left, And as they laughed I looked at them and said good choice. She smiled...
