Waitress was extremely helpful, let me taste test a couple beer that I wasn't sure about so I knew I was getting what I wanted. I got the Cajun burger and it wasn't spicy but had a delicious cajun flavor, I also got the sea salt fries and they are soft, perfectly cooked and don't even need a sauce in my opinion. The ranch was good but if you don't like sour cream I recommend not getting it, very sour cream heavy (but I think it was still delicious). My boyfriend got the beer cheese burger and coleslaw. The beer cheese was so good we asked for a side of it to take home. And being from the south I am always a little picky with my coleslaw, theirs is fresh, crispy and delicious. Not watered down and has perfect flavor and crunch. The staff were diligent in the kitchen, we literally watched then make our burgers and fries and they keep the place organized and spotless. You can definitely tell they care about their work and take pride in what they serve. I've been told it's the best burger in Minot and they definitely lived up to the hype. I've had subpar burgers in a few places around town, so this will definitely be my go to from now on. They're pretty busy sometimes and it's clear to see why, highly...
Read moreI lived in Minot for many years and JL Beers was a regular stop. I was trucking through and decided to catch a Lyft to have a burger and beer. Food was pretty good but the service from Dom was not. I ordered a Coors light and got a Big Wave. She did offer to dump the beer but I said it will go ahead and drink it even though it's not a favorite. She charged me extra for the Big Wave when it was her mistake. First time in my life that a bartender charged me for a screw up. When I asked her about it she said she had no choice but to charge me for a big wave. I told her it was her mistake not mine and I could have made her waste it down the drain. If that's how the managment is handling this place now I won't bother wasting extra money on a Lyft to spend my money there. It's honestly not worth it at this point. No personality at this place like before. Jasmine was nice but...
Read moreJL Beers provides a continually updated bar-burger experience, with new beers in stock and evolving food. I recently tried the beer cheese sauce with the pretzel for the first time. It was life-changing. The sauce is doesn't taste of a cheap can, and instead evokes childhood memories of cheese fondue. If you don't finish it, take it home and find something -- anything -- to dip!
My friends and I don't have well-educated beer palates, and we like trying flights to find something new. I wish that discoveries of an ale I fancy could stay on tap six months later when I return, and I wish I took better notes. I think the beer descriptions on the menu have thinned, and it can be difficult to picture what you're...
