I’m confused because most of the reviews are great and our experience was far from it. My husband and I arrived at 7:05pm, put our number down and was told there was a 40-45min wait. No problem for us. We were excited to see so many people there waiting for a table. We were seated around 7:55pm. The place is nice and the atmosphere is lively with great music and pleasant staff. We ordered a tostone appetizer and a 2lb parrilla meal with yuca fries and a kale Cesar salad. After the order was taken, we were unable to flag our waitress down for about 30min. We asked about the appetizer and were told that Saturday nights are crazy but we should get our app soon. The tostone platter came at 8:47pm and it was not worth the wait. Very little meat, mostly fatty sections and the tostones were drowning in an odd combination of tomatoes, scallions, red onion, parsley, cilantro, cotija cheese, dried cranberries and the fix all sauce of cilantro garlic. The tostones at the bottom became soggy due to all those toppings. The main plate of meat came out at 8:52pm. We ordered the temperature to be medium and it came out medium rare and not cut properly. For those who know how to cook steak, you know how important it is to let the meat rest and then slice it against the grain. The meat was very chewy and not salted. Since we were waiting nearly an hour, I had no energy to send it back so we just ate it. The Cesar salad we received was completely incorrect, with cotija cheese, tomatoes and a green herby dressing. We did send that back for the potato salad since the waitress argued (nicely) that that was the Cesar salad. Price is not too bad, but after waiting a total of 2 hours for poorly served food it just kind of ruined a night out. Yuca fries and potato...
Read moreEl Churrascaso, a Cozy Spot with Amazing Food and Service. We visited El Churrascaso Restaurant on a Saturday night, and we were pleasantly surprised by this cozy and charming atmosphere. The restaurant specializes in Brazilian grilled meats and seafood, and has a wide wine list and cocktail menu. The food was absolutely delectable and well-presented. We ordered the plantains with grilled octopus to share, the 2lb meat board with white Jazmin rice, black beans, and avocado. Well seasoned meats, churrasco, pork loin, chicken, and sausage. The portion sizes were great for sharing, and we had some leftovers to take home. The service was fantastic and attentive. Our server, Estefania, was friendly and helpful, and gave us some recommendations on what to order. She checked on us frequently. Our bartender, Rachel, was also great, and made us the best piña coladas we’ve ever had. They were creamy, fruity, and refreshing, and had a nice kick of rum. The atmosphere was wonderful and relaxing. The restaurant had a rustic and warm decor, with wooden tables and chairs, and colorful paintings on the walls. The lighting was soft and romantic, and the music was upbeat and lively. The restaurant was busy, but not too crowded or noisy, and we felt comfortable and welcomed. I highly recommend El Churrascaso Restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy spot with amazing food and service. It’s a great place to enjoy a casual and fun meal with friends or family, and to try some authentic Brazilian cuisine. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes from their menu. Forgot to mention the dessert! The crème brûlée was delectable paired with a cappuccino and espresso! You can’t go wrong in this...
Read moreHave been wanting to try this place for a while, and I was pretty happy with it overall. Food and drinks were better than the service. The seating hostess/server was completely bereft of personality, repeatedly trying to seat parties at a table that is jammed in between two others and in a high traffic area. She tried to put us there, and we declined in order to avoid having people drag their junk across our table and opted for a half booth against the back wall.
Suggestion to management : take out that little two top and spread your tables out a few inches. Watched six parties refuse to sit there. It's a terrible table placement. Listen to your guests as I am sure this is a daily issue.
Back to the experience. The young lady who waited on us was nice but not terribly communicative, one word answers were pretty much par for the course. Drinks were well poured and garnished beautifully. The Caipirinha and White Sangria were among the best I have ever tasted, no joke. These are must haves if you dine here.
The food (kind of but not entirely) made up for the service, though. Had the tostones with pulpo, and it was delicious. The octopus itself was tender and perfectly prepared. The Pico on the massive tostones was creative in that it had dried cranberries and olives in it for the occasional bite of sweet and earthy, pretty cool, I must say.
Shared the Parilla Mixta, and it was fantastic. Lomo, Picanha, Pork, Sausage, and a ridiculously delicious chicken thigh with a side of sweet corn in butter and parmesan cheese. Beyond delicious and right into the comfort meal zone. Will absolutely be back to have this and the...
