It's sad HI HO Chopped Gooey I mean Suey was a small Chinese restaurant that I use to deliver the South Bend Tribune to when I was 12 years old. I ate there once years ago. So today my brother brought home Panda Express and it smelled good so I thought I'd get dinner for my mother and I and decided on Hi Ho Chopped Suey. Called ordered the meal and picked it up. Got home and dished it out. I wanted steamed brown rice but they only service fried rice. I should have known by that it would be bad. So I fished it out and gave my mom her plate and sat down with her. We had orange chicken and beef and Broccoli. We both took a bite and and looked at each other. My mom asked me if I had ever eaten there and I said years ago. I asked her the same she said same here. We took a few more bites and looked at each other again and she asked me if I would ever go back and we both said at the same time NO! The orange chicken was terrible. Orange chicken is suppose to taste great. Panda Express did. This tasted like it was sitting there all day, no spices, tough as a piece of leather. The Beef and broccoli tasted like water. No salt or pepper. The egg roll should have been called shoe leather roll. I did not eat all my food and my mom told me to put the rest of hers and the left overs in the garbage. I called the restaurant and told them and they said that the food was fresh and I told her that if the food was fresh then I'm mother Theresa. What a waste of $32 dollars. Do not go there. You can get better food in the dumpster...
Read moreFirst time we tried it. Husband remembered it being very good when he was younger. We only live 5 minutes away so we thought we try. It was really bad. The pot stickers were practically hard as rock. The white rice was very crunchy like they reheated it. The chicken key that I ordered came in at discussing White sauce of some kind that covered the food and made everything tasteless. Everything that was ordered was covered in some kind of gravy or sauce. Was not expecting that watching my husband and son likes was the egg rolls which they each got one. But nobody finished their main course we just took a couple bites and left. Service wasn't good. She never asked us about refills she never and she never asks if we need to order food. The lady at the counter didn't care if we liked it or not she just wanted us to pay our bill. I suggest if you want fresh Chinese with great service ,do not go...
Read moreI ordered a General Tso and chicken fried rice. At first I thought I received the wrong order, as the Tso and rice was unrecognizable. The rice was dark brown, instead of light. It had very dry pieces of chicken in it. The General Tso I ordered a medium spicy, but there was no spice or even a hint of tanginess. The sauce was super thin and really bland. It sure didn't seem deep fried - the chicken was dry and the coating was slimy and falling off the chicken. I've had lots of Chinese, and they've all been typically the same. I have no idea what this stuff was. The crab wonton things tasted mostly like butter overpowering the cream cheese. The filling was a dark yellow, and even these I couldn't bear to finish. I hate leaving bad reviews, but wow I just didn't enjoy a penny of the...
