The salad was fantastic with the two dressings that they served. The garlic tasted like it was store-bought/frozen. The fried ravioli was $10, the restaurant obviously caters towards big groups because our party of 3 was seated after a party of 7. Knowing this, the 7 pieces of ravioli which we're overcooked did not come even close to sufficing all of our taste buds.
The raspberry tea was your standard Pepsi product and that's fine and dandy. The lemonade however, was not sweet or bitter. It was as if someone yelled lemon through a 10 foot thick concrete wall.
We ordered 1 plate of Veal Marsala with mushrooms, chicken carbonara with shrimp, and a penne al ruso.
The veal in the Marsala was overcooked and burnt on the edges. The sauce was bland and the slight taste it did have was off-putting. The noodles however were cooked well and I was able to somehow tolerate half the plate.
I tried putting Parmesan and crushed red pepper on my Marsala to help the flavor. I was very surprised when I bit into the bite again tasting the pungent taste of garlic salt. Who the heck, adds garlic salt to Parmesan?
The penne was fine, it tasted as if it was leftovers. The sauce was slightly more flavorful than the Marsala however it was not worth the price.
The chicken carbonara with shrimp was one of the most vile tasting cream based sauces I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. The shrimp was cooked well, the chicken was very bland as well.
The tiramisu they served was your basic slice of cake with a dismal amount of fudge drizzled on top. It was not tiramisu, no lady fingers.
Overall, it came to $107. The worst money I've spent to date. Save your money, Olive garden is so...
Read moreMy husband and I chose to dine here for our anniversary. Service was outstanding- very sweet server (didn't catch her name) and wonderful hostess and owners. The bartender was friendly as I waited for my husband to arrive I enjoyed a glass of Pinot Grigio. We were sadly disappointed in the minestrone soup (very bland) and our entrees. Chicken Marsala was swimming in oil (which I'm pretty sure the cream sauce broke) and the meat sauce was oddly overly sweet tasting in the lasagna roll entree- very different flavor from the side of meatballs in the same meat sauce we ordered (amazingly delicious). Absolutely loved the fresh salad and homemade dressings with garlic toast. We made our comments to the staff/owner and they took our critique to heart which was appreciated as they sat down and talked to us about our opinions. However, we felt at the same time we were being given sorry excuses for the oily dish and were told "There is nothing wrong with this" in the next sentence, "I wouldn't eat that either." And admitted she was not pleased with the look of the dish. They comped the Chicken Marsala and soup which we very much appreciated but we had such high hopes for this restaurant and I hope they overcome some of these issues with consistency and timing. Ticket time was 42 minutes... granted it was busy but for such a long wait we were disappointed in the outcome. Guest checks are written on server note pads which is old school and the accuracy in adding items up may need some checking before payment. In all that, we do wish them the best of luck in the future and we do still recommend giving...
Read moreJust want to say, this will be a two stage review. This is an incredible, independent restaurant that I fully support, and want to succeed. The ambiance of the restaurant, and the cleanliness is is impeccable. The Service Staff, down to the hostess are well trained. My seat was towards the hostess stand, and she spent the most of her time disinfecting menues. The salad! There is not a better salad anywhere in the Midwest! If you like Olive Garden, try this. Worth the visit for the salad and garlic bread. And yes, it's TRUE. Mix the homemade red dressing with the white. It is totally incrdible. The Cons: The Entrees. I've eaten here three times and walked away with the same feeling. While good, but not great. Here's why. The entrees, although great recipes, are not prepared properly. My appetizers while tasted good, were not. They were microwaved. Third time there, my Entree, instead of red sauce, was burgundy, and crusty and burnt on the edges. Again, totally overcooked. Great recipes, but overcooked. Get rid of the microwave.! My Lasagna Risotto would have tasted better from Martin's frozen food isle. The deserts were incredible. Fresh and delicious. I support local restraunters, and this is a restaurant that will be the best in...
