Battell Park — Attraction in Mishawaka

Best place to walk after a meal for me memories of when I grew up before it became what it is now I could tell you many many stories of all the places trees flowers the fountain and the memorial my grandparents both retired from ball band or some say uniroil and never got a dime for their retirement $47 a month... The real truth at the park is not known cuz there's no respect in this world for what happened in the past my grandfather was world war II and Korean war and I hope people care about is money and what they can see now the beauty of what it is now and to me it's fake I played in this park since I was five with my cousins I know every inch of this Battell Park before it became what it is now. And people just walk by and never even think of the history.. I'll be 49 in 2 weeks I've lived here all my life there's no respect from the public from people about the land and what...

This is an amazing playground that they have definitely redone in the past couple of years. The ground of the playground is made of Astroturf and is squishy and bouncy. There are several slides and other pieces of fun play equipment for kiddos. There is a merry-go-round that is in ground and not raised above the ground.

There is a splash pad right by it. It has a Spinny squirting thing and a Spinny butterfly thing that shoots water out of its mouth. It also has some river type things that fill up as water squirts in it. There is a covered pavilion with a picnic table or two right next to the splash pad.

Another great thing about this park, which you don’t find often in this area, is that it has lots of shade from trees.

I have always loved this park... In recent years they have done MAJOR improvements. Only able to give 3 stars because the playground is lacking (a short drive to Central Park is worth it for bigger kids). It'd be so great if this park would accomodate smaller children! Also, sometimes I fear for my safety with the very interesting/sketchy visitors . Although I hate to sound judgemental... I feel this is a hangout for people on drugs. My kids are scared usually.... Parking is rough too, you have to park unsafely on Mishawaka Ave which is...
