Paulie D's Pizza — Restaurant in Mission

My kids and I always get Paulie D's on Wednesday nights, and it's become one of my favorite places in town (the crust is perfection). Had to share this story... we were leaving basketball practice at a nearby school and I ordered our usual pizza on the way out. Got to the car and realized my keys were locked in the car. We had to wait over an hour for a locksmith to come. So I called Paulie D's to let them know I wouldn't make it in time and hung up, hungry and dejected. I get a call a minute later, and one of the girls who works there (I should have gotten her name so I can give a shout out) asked where we were. The school wasn't far, so she got in her personal car and drove the pizza to us, with some water bottles. They don't deliver normally, but went out of their way to help us out, and the pizza made waiting on the locksmith a fun family memory. I completely disagree with a prior review about the "value proposition." Fresh made pizza with plenty of toppings.. Yes you will pay more than pizza hut but isn't a locally, artisan crafted pizza worth more?

Loved the pizza and the entire experience, but I would pass a few suggestions on. Knowing that the staff is pretty new, I would advise having employees demonstrate more of a desire of wanting to be at the pizzeria. It's not that they look unhappy, it's more that they don't engage much with patrons. Pretty minor frankly and expected with a new joint, so no big deal.

It's a beautiful thing when a lover of food follows their passion and opens a restaurant! Paulie has created a great, small town feeling Pizzeria right in the heart of Mission, Kansas! The pizza and the cheese sticks were both very tasty, albeit sliiiiiiiightly under cooked. Ask him to leave it in the oven a minute longer for some extra crispy crust! With the easy location and the delicious melted cheese it's a win/win! Always great to have another pizza option that isn't the corporate Papa John's or Pizza Hut!
